The India Newborn Action Plan (INAP) was launched by Hon’ble Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan on 18th September, 2014 in New Delhi. It outlines a targeted strategy for accelerating the reduction of preventable newborn deaths and stillbirths in the country. INAP defines the latest evidence on effective interventions which will not only help in reducing the burden of stillbirths and neonatal mortality, but also maternal deaths. With clearly marked timelines for implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and scaling-up of proposed interventions, it is expected that all stakeholders working towards improving newborn health in India will stridently work towards attainment of the goals of “Single Digit NMR by 2030” and “Single Digit SBR by 2030.”The INAP will be implemented within the existing RMNCH+A framework, and guided by the principles of Integration, Equity, Gender, Quality of Care, Convergence, Accountability, and Partnerships. Its strength is built on its six pillars of intervention packages, impacting stillbirths and newborn health. For effective implementation, a systematic plan for monitoring and evaluation has been developed with a list of dashboard indicators.

Regarding Kala Dhan: In my opinion we should try to stop the generation of Kala Dhan within the country first. PM Jan dhan yojana has provided the facility of almost all families of India. Bank may issue a RuPay debit card to each account holder and to each family member of the account holder as add- on card. Then the Government may strictly stop the cash transactions in the country. All transaction should be via debit, credit cards & internet banking. This will minimize kala dhan generation.

Health Insurance instead of Group Life Insurance scheme for government staff. There is deduction of approx. Rs 960 per month, amounting to Rs 12000 per year from each govt employee. Only life insurance of meager 'sum assured' is offered. For medical reimbursement approx 30 % of total cost of health care has to be spent as commission. Many govt or private health insurance companies offer Rs 3 lakh of family floater cashless insurance in more than 5000 reputed hospital across country; same premium

Health for all not only for affluent class.A determined and solid policy is required with participation from public and private partnership. My idea is to impose a surcharge of 0.5% on all transactions for the purpose of free medical care for all.One more thing I would like to add medical education system is rotten and 200% increase in seats is immediately required and the astonishing fee structure by pvt. medical colleges should be handled with a iron fist policy

Regarding Swachh Baharat Abhiyan, I felt that a separate small dust bag should be provided to each and every passenger of Indian Railways in AC and Sleeper class. A larger Dust bin shopud be provided in each coach of Sleeper and General coach. This will be helpful in making India clean.

Sirs, Most of the private hospitals in the country give their doctors target to generate revenue from each patients. Then they give unnecessary tests and operations. A test in these hospitals cost 5-6 times more than what it usually cost from a reputed clinic outside. All private hospitals should be subject to special audits . Also like prime ministers recent initiatives I urge to start a similar initiative and invite big reputed corporates like TATA group to start hospitals everywhere.
