India Post is the only department which does not focus much on the welfare of its most hard working Postal assistants. Most of the postal employees are not being permitted to avail their own, eligible and accumulated Earned Leave and Medical leave. They are being deprived of their basic fundamental rights. The Postal assistants are forced to perform multifarious clerical duties and they are not being treated properly.

I know many postal assistants were forced to go on VRS due to deteriorating health conditions and lack of proper motivation ( emotionally, mentally and intellectually). It is quite true that health is mightier than wealth. Money, even though it is a good motivator, is only a means and not an end in itself. One can buy medicines, and not health. One can buy books, and not wisdom. One can buy cosy bed, and not good sleep.

Since the Finacle and McCamish work only on broadband internet and electricity, most of the INDIAN post offices will be largely affected due to frequent power cuts and broadband disconnections. The postal assistants now work upto nine o' clock in the night time to complete the day to day works. Why the Department keeps the idea of Voluntary Retirement as a closely guarded secret???? Health is mightier than wealth. Money is only a means and not an end in itself.

Due to the blatant refusal of DA MERGER AND INTERIM RELIEF, most of the postal employees are greatly de motivated and dissatisfied, since they have a lot of financial commitments and outstanding loans to be repaid. The work culture is repetitive and tiresome. Most of the postal employees are not fully prepared to handle the new operating softwares like Finacle and McCamish. The Department is rushing through the Finacle and McCamish.

All the postal employees are suffocating and suffering a lot due to the preparatory works for CBS implementation and many postal assistants have to work in post offices even on Sundays and National Holidays!! What a pity?! Even hard working postal assistants are discouraged and de motivated a lot. As such , they proceed on Voluntary Retirement , even if they liked to work further.....This is highly inhumane and tragic.

The Banks and LIC OF INDIA do not compel the public to attend their offices again and again. The ATMS and even Cash Deposit Machines are used for the well being of the public. But, it is not so for the INDIA Post. I know many Postal employees who fell sick on duty due to excessive work torture and even died due to lack of proper motivation in work, both financially and emotionally. Most Postal employees do not get their own leave at credit in times of dire need. Pathetic indeed!

The stamp sales must be compulsorily privatised since at present, all the public have to come to the post office premises to purchase stamps and other stationery. In this age, the Banks and LIC OF INDIA do provide International debit and credit cards, online net banking, mobile banking, debit card to card money transfer, Premium collection centres to remit LIC premia at their convenience, etc
But, only in India Post the public are forced to come to the post office premises.

I wish that India Post must encourage and promote " Golden Handshake" or Voluntary Retirement for all those Postal employees who have already completed TWENTY YEARS of qualifying service. This will be a boon for medically unfit and mentally unwilling employees to leave the Department with peace of mind and it provides a golden chance for the highly qualified and unemployed youth to find decent jobs in India Post.

It is my most humble opinion that the implementation of Finacle ( Core Banking Solutions) and McCamish must not be hastened like this.....Most of the Postal Assistants have not yet prepared themselves for the new operating systems. In many Postal Dvisions, the post offices are being trusted forcefully with Finacle and McCamish, and the senior Postal clerks are subjected to severe psychological stress due to the speedy preparatory works. Many senior Postal Assistants have proceeded on VRS.
