For delivering various Citizen centric services and furthering the reach of Financial Services including Insurance, the Government of India has set up a Task Force to examine and recommend efficient utilisation and upgradation of the Post Office Network, enabled with Digital/Internet Connectivity to rural Offices and outpost areas enabling reach of different services in rural areas. This Network is also being viewed as a distribution channel to retail various schemes and services of Central Government, State Government and Private Sector Players.

Through this discussion the Department of Posts (Ministry of Communications & Information Technology) seeks suggestions on the following:

•    To further the role of Post Offices in Financial inclusion, including Insurance products
•    The infrastructure requirements of the Post Offices and the Postal Network
•    To make the Post Offices financially viable

5. PO Savings banks need to me separated from basic postal services and there should be completely separate division of PO banks. In India PO’s reach is available in interior to interior places and PO banks are the best option to implement financial inclusion plans and making pension and insurance plans available in rural areas. But before doing this there must be a revolutionary change in the mindset of existing postal workers & they should work positively towards making such plans successful

PO's basic identity is that it is the best medium for safer and faster exchange of letters, parcels and money. But in our postal system we need certain revolutions like 1.Postal delivery should be made prompt with recruiting efficient postmen in every post offices. 2.Work culture & professionalism must be bring in our old age postal system. 3.Usefulness & joy of Letter writing and sending them through postal service should be popularized via Postal Newsletter, Exmp- "Lettermag"- Dautsche PO)

Post office was used to send money orders in the old days. Please convert Post office to banks . It will ensure that the Postal department survives and also gets a new utility as mails sother than Speed post is not helping it to be profitable. Besides the quality of the offices will improve and the huge space available with them can be put to good use. it will also ensure better staffing of the Post offices.International money transfer can be another service which can be introduced in it.

we can include the other major government services like passport renewals & driving license renewals can be processed at the post office with a nominal fee charged at the post office counters. the fee would be charged for our services in helping them to fill up the form and processing the renewal. this service would only be possible for renewals as they require minimum information and the form should be filled with correct information in which our people would be trained.

Post office should be government owned and the services offered should be handled by the government rather than outsourcing it to the vendor. Therefore, this will increase the revenue for the government as the profits would be kept within the government which will help us to expand the post office network across the country.

As post office is in reach of all people. So Post office can work as agent network between various govt department and users.e.g- If a person want to apply for Driving licence etc then they generally hire some private agent for this as these department are not in proximity of everyone. If post office has some helper department which charge some nominal fee then people will go to post office instead of private agent,It also put check on this private agent trends in every department.

1. There is speed post service but still people opts for private vendor private courier service because they have better customer service so post office can work on this department. 2. Post office should tie up with various e-commerce companies and can become there distributional channel 3. Should have an online portal for selling stamps, envelops etc just like in USA https://store.usps.com/pse/pse-home.action

In India for pizza delivery there is bike, but our Indian postman in 21st century also used bicycles. Indian Gov. should provide every postman a bike for distributing mails, which will only be used for office work with limited fuel consumption like in Domino's Pizza.
