India postal services have widest network in India. They should tie-up business with E-commerce sites like Snapdeal, Flipkart, Amazon, Ebay so get revenue.
These e-commerce retail companies need reach to small towns and India postal services have good chance now. If they delay this then private companies will take this opportunity.

Marketing team of Postal department will have to approach corporate offices, Banks or large departments which are sending big number of postal articles.Offer them little discount + assure them that, postal article will be collected even in the evening hours & try to dispatch same night. By this initiative, attract them to restart using postal services.
Now if franking is done for more than 100 articles, service charge is levied. Pl. remove it. Educate & encourage people to use franking n save

Post office can capture the business potentials of E-commerce,such as,what Amazon,Flipkart is doing or Alibaba or TATA group is planning to do.
+ DoP can exclusively sell products of government oriented unites(Or Indian Products ) and eliminate intermediary cost of selling(Products may be of PSUs,Ghadis,etc....)
The aim should be to take the Indian products to new heights by eliminating intermediary cost

Post men R very less paid. Permit them to carry stamps & envelopes with them. Give them commission for selling envelopes & stamps at the door steps of users. By day end, they R to return the stock + cash. Thus, more people restart using postal services.
Permit Post-man to collect regd.envelopes at the door steps [for commission] & handover departmental receipt on d next day. [Collect ord.post but tell 'Without any responsibility as they R not Regd'] Door step service =more business.

Let most of idling Post Masters be responsible for house-keeping, cleaniness and better management of counters; Why should there be CLOSED counters between 13.30 hrws till 16.00 hrs. for so called despatch of earlier booked Speed Post / Regd. Articles ?
