In order to make the Indian IT Industry move up the value chain and thereby sustain its growth trajectory, India has to adopt a paradigm shift in it’s strategy for software sector by focusing to create vibrant Indian Software Product Industry, where IT Products also contribute equitably and significantly along with IT Services. Though India is well positioned to further grow in services sector, however for holistic growth, there is a need for a National Policy on Software Products that can synergise the efforts of the Government and Industry to create a robust Software Product Industry, which enables the germinating ground for large number of Software product startups, promotes development of an ecosystem encouraging R&D and innovation, opens up multitude of opportunities of access to capital and helps build and improve the domestic demand. A National Policy on Software Products aligning with other initiatives such as Start-up India, Make in India and Digital India etc. can provide the springboard for India to emerge as a global leader in this important industry.

To drive the rise of India as a Software Product Nation and synergy with the ITeS sector, so as to place India as a leading player as creator, producer and supplier of innovative Software Products globally thereby enabling the IT Industry to sustain growth momentum, a Draft Policy is under consideration by this Ministry.

Ministry seeks suggestions and feedback from the public and other stakeholders on the draft before forming the policy.

The last date for sharing your inputs on the Draft National Policy on Software Products is December 9, 2016.

An upper limit/cap on keeping domestic Jewellery (proportionate with the number of family members/size), can be fixed. The amount/value of Jewellery already deposited with the banks, in various Gold schemes may be excluded from this cap.
This limit/cap shall only apply on the jwellery, kept at homes, & not to Gold Bonds.
Going cashless will give a miraculous boost to our Economy, end corruption & provide Bharat its rightful place in the world. PM's initiative is wise one, widening the tax-net.

Alongside the development of software products, there is also the need to enhance safety of digital equipment such as mobile phones. This is also a matter of security of nation as well as of individuals since in most crimes stolen mobile phones are used. Software to curb theft of digital equipment even when it is switched off and that to personally identify the owner of an equipment should be encouraged.

It's really unfortunate and disappointing that Govt is introducing another scheme for declaring of black money deadline with 31st Dec 16, we have taken pain of being cashless for many, paying sincerely tax, and found by declaring amount which is now completely scrap could get the value of 50%. Not happy with such scheme. my request to govt who did not disclose undeclared amount should not be got another chance.

1. For startup/ product based companies who are building good product and selling in India or abroad, for first 3 years of stabilization, Gov can waive of part of tax eg: Company should pay full tax on profit. IT department will return them say 50% of tax withing 6 month. Figures can be discussed and agree. This should encouraged to focus on building products rather than only service based work like Israel, a small country, has many leading products in banking area.

India need lots of digitization in all areas. For mutual facilitation, software companies should setup development center in low cost location 2nd or 3rd level Cities instead of Mumbai/ Pune/ B'Lore. Few member can stay in 1st level cities if needed. If we mandate it, then other cities will also see growth and momentum. Active participation from college and universities should be encouraged

1. Nurture Product based companies. Software product and branding can lead Indias image. Ta incentives for software products being developed and sold in India and outside
2. Promote software industries to setup and grow in 2nd/ 3rd level Cities thatn Delhi, Banglore, Pune, Mumbai by tax incentive. This will bring down cost, and help to manage business
