In order to make the Indian IT Industry move up the value chain and thereby sustain its growth trajectory, India has to adopt a paradigm shift in it’s strategy for software ...

In order to make the Indian IT Industry move up the value chain and thereby sustain its growth trajectory, India has to adopt a paradigm shift in it’s strategy for software sector by focusing to create vibrant Indian Software Product Industry, where IT Products also contribute equitably and significantly along with IT Services. Though India is well positioned to further grow in services sector, however for holistic growth, there is a need for a National Policy on Software Products that can synergise the efforts of the Government and Industry to create a robust Software Product Industry, which enables the germinating ground for large number of Software product startups, promotes development of an ecosystem encouraging R&D and innovation, opens up multitude of opportunities of access to capital and helps build and improve the domestic demand. A National Policy on Software Products aligning with other initiatives such as Start-up India, Make in India and Digital India etc. can provide the springboard for India to emerge as a global leader in this important industry.

To drive the rise of India as a Software Product Nation and synergy with the ITeS sector, so as to place India as a leading player as creator, producer and supplier of innovative Software Products globally thereby enabling the IT Industry to sustain growth momentum, a Draft Policy is under consideration by this Ministry.

Ministry seeks suggestions and feedback from the public and other stakeholders on the draft before forming the policy.

The last date for sharing your inputs on the Draft National Policy on Software Products is December 9, 2016.

Companies dominating OS and Office suite software threaten small companies with legal action all the time, sometimes without due reasons. That should be addressed.

IN TENDER, AGENCY IS FIXED BY POLITICIAN. AGENCY/CONTRACTOR WILL GIVE BRIBE 10% TO 15% COMMISSION TO POLITICIAN FOR WORKS REWARDING.
CENTRAL GOVERNMENT AND STATE GOVERNMENT SHOULD IMPLEMENT E - TENDER TO AVOID BRIBE.

Please renegotiate treaties such that taxes on IP are exempt or atleast at its minimal especially with major economies such as the US, EU and UK

Service Tax should be reduced...as currently, for small and medium companies, amount of service amount is less and adding up the tax would make it big and small local customers deny to take services and pay service tax. It is hurdling our growth as if we start implementing service tax, our clients start leaving and we start losing business. It can be put above certain amounts or can be set as per company sizew.

We used to outsource our work...but policy of cutting 10% PT from the payments>30k in a year is really not viable...nobody allow it and stop working with us. Should be increases.

Please increase PF and ESI compulsions for employees more then 9 in any organization. It is too less and headache of managing these formalities divert the concentration from core business for the small companies at least. It should be for more then 30-40 employees as then one can manage extra staff for doing it.

I have small pvt ltd company with turnover of 20-30 lacs..but I have to manage all formalities of it same as big companies having turnover of more then 100 crores or so. Paper work should be reduced for small pvt. ltd. companies.
