" The portrait of a lady" by KHUSHWANT SINGH draws a pen portrait of his grandmother. The story tells us the intimacy between the author and grandmother. It is one of the most recommended stories that gives us lots of nostalgic feelings after reading. The story conveys the idea that when the people are pious even nature mourns their death.

My favorite author is Arundhati Roy. She is famous for her novel " The God of small things "which also won the Man Booker prize for fiction in 1997.
Arundhati Roy born in shillong (meghalaya) India. For some time she lived with her maternal grandfather in Ooty Tamilnadu. After completing graduation, she started work at television & movies she wrote the screenplay for " In which Annie give it those one". It was based on her experience about her student life of architecture in Delhi.
