I , am Aditya Kumar Chaudhary honored to contribute my thoughts on the Draft Accessibility Standards proposed by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. This initiative marks a significant step toward building an inclusive society where products are designed to serve everyone, regardless of ability. I respectfully offer the following suggestions to strengthen the standards: Digital Accessibility* 1. Alongside physical products, digital interfaces such as apps, websites, and manuals must be compatible with assistive technologies like screen readers and voice navigation. 2. *Affordability and Reach* Accessibility should not be a luxury. Products must be priced and distributed in a way that ensures availability to people across economic backgrounds. 2. *Periodic Review and Innovation* The standards should be reviewed regularly to incorporate emerging technologies and evolving user needs,

I am Aditya Chaudhary honord to contribute my thoughts on the Draft Accessibility Standards proposed by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. This initiative marks a significant step toward building an inclusive society where products are designed to serve everyone, regardless of ability. I respectfully offer the following suggestions to strengthen the standards: 1. *Inclusive User Testing* Products should be tested by individuals with diverse disabilities to ensure real-world usability. Their feedback must be central to the design process. 2. *Universal Design Integration* The standards should promote universal design principles so that products are inherently accessible to all users without the need for adaptation. 3. *Digital Accessibility* Alongside physical products, digital interfaces such as apps, websites, and manuals must be compatible with assistive technologies like screen

Inviting comments and suggestions on the draft accessibility standards for the products sector: We are pleased to announce the release of the draft accessibility standards for the products sector, which have been carefully prepared with the objective of ensuring inclusivity, usability, and equal access for all individuals, including persons with disabilities. These draft standards aim to provide clear guidelines for manufacturers, designers, and stakeholders in the products sector to incorporate accessibility features right from the stage of design and development, thereby promoting universal design and removing barriers that may prevent equal participation. In order to make these standards more practical, effective, and widely acceptable, we invite constructive comments, observations, and suggestions from all stakeholders, including industry representatives

There is a serious need for products to maintain standards. for that one can make sure to do inspection by govt body before using goods. there should be certain type of marks to be issued to differentiate between quality of goods.

The draft standards from the DEPwD represent a crucial step toward creating a barrier-free environment for persons with disabilities (PwD), aligning with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. The document outlines non-negotiable rules for products across various categories, from kitchenware to public infrastructure, grounded in the principles of Universal Design and the P.O.U.R. framework (Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, Robust). Key areas of focus include sensory accessibility (Braille, tactile features, high-contrast labels), physical/ergonomic design (easy-to-use handles, wide openings, reachable controls), and digital accessibility (compliance with IS 17802, screen reader support, voice commands). It rightly emphasizes affordability, mandatory testing, and compliance monitoring through incentives and penalties. To elevate these standards, one could propose new rights such as the "Right to Digital-First Access," which would legally mandate that all product inform

There are lot of infrastructure structures lying idle or are illegally constructed, instead of destroying them , government should take over with compensation of Rs.1/- so that builder receives nominal amount & cannot challenge in law court neither will dare to build such structures , we need structure for police , hospital, government employee residence etc , these could be converted by doing interior. For eg there are structure of thermal power near ITO in Delhi which is obsolete & not in use , government can ask DDA to build residential buildings for low income group . Wherever there is flyover is build , let there is equal road build adjacent to it for eg Mahipalpur flyover towards Gurgaon is always congested but underneath road is also blocked but if underneath road is also use till Gurgaon like service lane , this will reduce traffic on flyover and slow moving vehicles will use alternative roads .
