The Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued draft rules to ensure ease of using drones in India on the basis of trust, self-certification, and non-intrusive monitoring. The Drone Rules, 2021, once notified, will supersede the UAS Rules, 2021, which came into force on March 12 this year.

The Rules aim to make the process of owning, possessing, exporting, importing, manufacturing, trading, leasing, operating, transferring, or maintaining a drone in India, simpler and hassle-free. For that, the draft rules seek to abolish the requirement of various approvals, ranging from certificate of conformance, certificate of maintenance, import clearance, to student remote pilot licences.

Besides, it proposes the development of drone corridors for cargo deliveries and a drone promotion council to be set up to facilitate a drone-friendly regulatory regime in the country.

Click here to view The draft of Draft Drone Rules, 2021, which is issued for public consultation for seeking feedback and suggestions.

The last date of submission is August 5, 2021.

Jai Hind 🇮🇳 Sir, flying of Drone in functions like marriage etc can be misused by anti national elements. There must be a strict law to deal with misuse of drones, even any country found spying or attacking our system with such remote controlled things must be taken seriously and termed as attack on our system and nation. Even International community must be taken into confidence as their misuse is a declared War against our beloved country. Jai Hind 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮

Jai hind sir, Attack on IAF base at Jammu by using Drone which shocked the security forces. Before Jammu attack it's used by anti nationals to smuggling of illegal items on borders. To stop this type of activity a strict law needs to be implemend in the country just like a keeping gun licence. Thanking you.

National Security is above all. No Drone fly should be allowed within the radius of 10 KM of all air bases, military bases, Govt. Security Establishments, Research& Development Establishments and other sensitive estalishments as well as cities even to be identified or aleady identified to ensure Securities. A School of elite students and scholars only must be established to develope drone technologies with fast pace.

Speaking from a security point of view, though I do not know the concept of working principles of drone activity, I think the device is controlled, remote, by precoded software. If that is the process, may be a chip is embedded to control it. That way if it is registered & can be tagged GPS, unwanted movements can be monitored not only at notified areas. By this the purpose will be fruitful. Thank you
