The Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued draft rules to ensure ease of using drones in India on the basis of trust, self-certification, and non-intrusive monitoring. The Drone Rules, 2021, once notified, will supersede the UAS Rules, 2021, which came into force on March 12 this year.

The Rules aim to make the process of owning, possessing, exporting, importing, manufacturing, trading, leasing, operating, transferring, or maintaining a drone in India, simpler and hassle-free. For that, the draft rules seek to abolish the requirement of various approvals, ranging from certificate of conformance, certificate of maintenance, import clearance, to student remote pilot licences.

Besides, it proposes the development of drone corridors for cargo deliveries and a drone promotion council to be set up to facilitate a drone-friendly regulatory regime in the country.

Click here to view The draft of Draft Drone Rules, 2021, which is issued for public consultation for seeking feedback and suggestions.

The last date of submission is August 5, 2021.

A drone, in technological terms, is an unmanned aircraft. Drones are more formally known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or unmanned aircraft systems (UASes). Essentially, a drone is a flying robot that can be remotely controlled or fly autonomously through software-controlled flight plans in their embedded systems, working in conjunction with onboard sensors and GPS.

There should be a verification number on the body of drone just like aircrafts which can be picked up by radars to find whether drone is a friend or foe . There should be new innovation to increase range of radars in low altitudes, those low altitudes where radar dies not work and 8s used by drones and UAVs to come closer undetected. This is a very very dangerous condition ,sir. Immediate action is required to counter this public and military safety problem.

Drones are here to stay & more advanced technologies will come incl. Drone applications for flying cars. However Drones pose high risk & danger to defence, security, nuclear & other such sensitive locations. Proper surveillance mechanism must be put in place to combat & destroy such rogue Drones.

sir, i am very much for the development of this technology. But one request to make is to implement this technology part by part. First let it be introduced or tested in a place with limited population and then it can spread over to other parts. regards Dr Yathish Kumar Associate professor dept of commerce university college MANGALORE KARNATAKA 9448696216
