During the year 2015-16, India spent Rs.4.82 lakh crores on imports to fulfill domestic demand. To reduce the import burden, and also to work towards to a greener environment, it ...
I think there should be rules according to which every house must not own more than 2 vehicles
If resident associations or local groups of the area get together and declare 1 day in a week as 'Clean Day' where no vehicles ply except for an emergency, it can work. Roping in children of the area is the best way to implement this.
India spent Rs. 4.82 lakh crores on imports to fulfill domestic need. in 2015-16. True. Why? Because of urban population is more than 40,000 heads / km2. My studies revealed that less than 15,000 population the fuel consumption is 35 % less compare to population having more than 40,000 heads / km2. By this India can save at least Rs. 1.25 lakhs crores + reduction of emitting green house gases. Smart villages better than smart cities. Dr. D. Lakshmanan Ex Principal Scientist. CSIR-CLRI, Chennai
