Inviting Suggestions to Encourage / Motivate the Masses to Avoid Petrol/Diesel Use for One Day in a Week

Start Date :

During the year 2015-16, India spent Rs.4.82 lakh crores on imports to fulfill domestic demand. To reduce the import burden, and also to work towards to a greener environment, it ...
Before Introducing my previous suggestion (which is down on this page) a fool-proof technology platform is to be developed to effectively implement the vehicle fuel rationing.
We can try Gas, Petrol and Diesel rationing method for Private vehicles (non-yellow board non-taxi vehicles) by linking the vehicle number to the centralized database. Each vehicle number should be linked to Owner's AADHAAR Number. For T/W maximum 2 Litres of Petrol per day rationing can be fixed. For pvt. cars max 10 Litres of Gas, Diesel and Petrol rationing can be fixed. Petrol and Diesel for the non-vehicle purpose should be discouraged and limited to 2 days per day against Aadhaar number.
The sale of e-scooter should be promoted and subsidised.
I am Govt Officer. I am using my bicycle to ride to the office from my residence often. ALong with this, I use my bicycle to travel to all places within 5 Km distance. Govt should promote such actions by appreciations, monetary benefits and awards.
I strongly believe that students should be motivated to come to school by bicycle daily. The use of bus should not be done if distance is less than 3 to 4 Km. Such children should be awarded and praised.
Awareness is the key.
4. Office/Schools must be near to residential areas or proper public transport must be provide at the places where offices/ schools are situated.
5. Govt. must take steps to provide affordable housing at places near to office/schools to reduce travel distance, time and use of vehicles.
If decisions like these are implemented without first providing the needed infrastructure will only lead to chaos.
5. The day must be a weekend because on weekends everyone needs to travel tens of kilometers to reach office/school.
To make it a better one and not a fiasco like demonitization:
1. Provide public charging stations at every available place like petrol bunks which will encourage people to use e vehicles.
2. Ask Road Transport corporations, Travels, Cab Aggregators to use e vehicles and alternate fuels.
3. Encourage research on hybrid vehicles using dual fuel n fuel electric hybrids.
1.Avoiding usage of petrol or diesel for one day means people must walk, use bicycle, e vehicles or alternate fuels on that day.
2. Only a handful of e vehicles and those which use alternate fuels are available even in pubic transport.
3. There are less than 10% of bunks which provide alternate fuels when compared to those providing petrol n diesel.
4. Absolutely no public charging stations are available anywhere.
The best way to motivate people not to use petrol or diesel is
1) Increase the rates of petrol or diesel for one day of the week.
2) Hire government e-rickshaws.
³) Giving small rewards to people who use eco and electric vehicles.
