The way I state has already been adopted by many colleges and Universities and I myself can claim no credit. Say completing a degree takes four years. Obviously it will be divided into four years, with two semesters in a year. Now each semester will comprise a certain number of courses. After each week, there should be a small assignment, of say 10 questions. A few best of all weeks should be taken and the student's grade should form a part of it. Besides this, home assignments and projects should be given, completing which will award a student with bonus marks. At the end of each month of the first five months, an exam should be taken which will comprise a chunk, say 30 out of 100 marks. Finally, the end-term exams will decide the rest.
