Namaskar.

I am writing to respectfully submit a proposal titled:
“Request for Recognition of ‘Verified Earnings Summary’ to Empower India’s Informal and Tribal Workers.”

This proposal outlines a national-level solution developed by our platform Labors.in, which supports Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and informal sector workers across India — with a special focus on tribal communities who often face deep-rooted barriers to financial inclusion.

Our framework proposes the recognition of digitally generated earnings summaries as valid, alternative income proof for informal workers. This would help enable access to critical services like bank credit, insurance, housing, and education — especially for marginalized and tribal populations who are frequently excluded due to the lack of formal documentation or employment records.

The vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) cannot be truly realized without the active participation and empowerment of tribal communities. Tribal communities form an integral part of India’s social and cultural fabric. As the nation moves towards the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, it is essential to recognize the vital role that tribal populations play in this journey. Their inclusion and empowerment are not just matters of equity but key drivers of sustainable and inclusive development.

Tribal people have long been the guardians of India’s forests, natural resources, and biodiversity. Their traditional knowledge systems promote sustainable living and environmental balance—values that align perfectly with the goals of a developed and green India. Their deep connection with nature and their organic way of life serve as an example for modern society in embracing eco-friendly practices.

Indian tribal knowledge systems are living libraries of ecological wisdom, much like Baya weaver birds—remarkably self-reliant, they acquire essential skills on their own, drawing from their environment rather than formal instruction. Just as the Baya weaver instinctively crafts intricate nests using only natural materials, tribal communities too possess an innate ability to survive, thrive, and live in harmony with nature, adapting seamlessly to their surroundings through generations of accumulated wisdom and observation.
India stands at a crossroads of climate urgency, cultural erosion, and developmental imbalance. Tribal communities offer a blueprint for balance, sustainability, and inclusive growth. Recognizing, respecting, and partnering with them is not only a matter of justice—it is a strategic imperative for India’s future.
