Kalyan-Dombivli has been short-listed as one of the 100 cities in India to be developed as a SMART City under the SMART Cities Mission. Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) is in the process of preparing a Smart City Proposal to compete in the nation-wide Smart City Challenge. Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation seeks the valuable inputs of the citizens to assist in the preparation of smart city vision. We request you to share your thoughts and aspirations on this discussion forum. The needs, aspirations and dreams of the citizens are to be articulated through the SMART CITY vision. KDMC is looking for active participation of the citizens to understand their likes and dislikes about the city, the city features to leverage for smart city development, and thoughts for optimum utilization of the city resources. The suggestions are welcomed on various smart solutions for urban services like water supply, sewerage, solid waste management; aesthetics, transport, health, e-governance and IT interventions.

The last date to submit your comments is 4th December, 2015.

All vehicles (2,3 and 4 wheelers) exhaust are containing large % of carcinogenic hydrocarbon and smoke. Which could be sensed (smelled and seen) easily even when we stand a distance away. these all vehicles are doing PUC check regularly. PUC is of no use. so some other rules and regulations are required for smart cities and other cities as well. So instead of opening large number of hospitals these preventive actions will be required.

1) For making our city smart first you need to manage the traffics in kalyan dombivili for that you need to install the traffic signal.
2) when the new visitor visits in kalyan station the first impression he gets the hawkers on the skywalk which is not at all good, so you need to look in this matter.
3) Improper street light. street light is necessary specially on ganeshghat bridge.
4) most important you can take help of the corporators because for tackling the problems in respective areas

I WANT TO SPEAK PARTICULARLY ABOUT KALYAN(E), WHERE SOME BASIC ISSUES ARE STILL ASHING UP THE DAILY LIFE OF PEOPLE. THE ATTACHED PDF FILE ARE SOMETHINGS THAT I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT TO THE SYSTEM , SO THAT THEY COULD REALIZE THAT PEOPLE IN SMALL TOWNS ARE STILL LEFTOUT, WHEN NEARBY AREAS LIKE KALYAN(W) ARE DEVELOPING ON HIGH SCALE.I AM NOT ASKING FOR SOMETHING NEW, JUST STATING THE UNSATISFACTORY THINGS , WE HAVE BEEN FACING.

Dombivli-Flyover shld be built across the highway from Shilphata to Kalyan with in & outs, so that commuting time will be reduced with only cars & private vehicles allowed to ply over the flyover rest all vehicles incl municipal bodies buses to ply below the flyover. These flyover can be extended in to the cities too wherever possible. No parking, hawking zones to be clearly identified & every ½ hour traffic patrolling rounds to be done & heavy fines to be levied for flouting rules.

1) Remove all banners and hoardings. They are destroying the beauty of the city. We are not interested to know when and which politician has his/her birthday.
2) Put an ‘on-the-spot’ fine if anybody is seen dropping garbage anywhere.
3) Give nose-masks/caps to all traffic inspectors
4) Make one Pay and Park area dedicated to women on kalyan station area
