Information and communication technology is becoming an important aspect of Agriculture sector. Till now most of IT initiatives by government were focused on website and training. In the current scenario, the mobile phones are becoming effective way of delivering information and this medium has been used by DAC&FW to develop KisanSuvidha Mobile App. The app is designed primarily for farmers keeping their requirements in mind. The app is engineered to provide all information at a common place that a farmer or agriculture stakeholder in agriculture sector may require. On 19th March 2016, app was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister during ‘KrishiUnnatiMela’ in New Delhi. As on today, an approximate 3 lakh active users are using this app. The App is available in Hindi, English, Punjabi, Tamil and Gujarati Language.

The app has very simple interface with focus on providing information on six essential areas of farming:-

1. Weather details
2. Dealers
3. Market Price
4. Plant Protection
5. Agro Advisory
6. Kisan Call Centre (KCC)

The app can be downloaded from Google Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.cdac.bharatd.agriapp and it is also available on mkisan.gov.in

Kisansuvidha is designed as a ‘Single window’ concept which enables farmers to get relevant information with the click of a button. Many more new features are being incorporated into this app so that it becomes more useful for farmers and related stakeholders.

We invite suggestion from all to improve this app further and share other useful apps for farmers.

cricker to bahut paisa milta hai lekin jo desh ko kari mehnat se anaaj paida karta hai us kisan ko kya milta hai kewal maut abhi tak to koi sarkar jagi nahi ab kaun jagega

Rivers interlinking and water lifting project in south could actually eliminate drat and will get the prices down, forming land will come under proper utilization along with providing employment to rural youth. For example Godavari krishna water every year is being left to the sea and the quantity is around lakhs of cusecs which is proven inefficiency by past govts, we people of RAYALASEEMA which use to be a competent of groundnut produce to gujarath is now facing sever drat,

सर ! धान का फसल कट कर घर पे रखा हुआ है लेकिन सरकार की तरफ अभी तक कोई भी कदम फसल को खरीदने की दिशा में नहीं उठाया गया है ।।
सरकार द्वारा जो क्रय केंद्र निर्धारित किया गया है वो अभी तक खुले नहीं हैं ।।।।

I should have the ability to set my location and all details corresponding to that location should be given instead of keeping it generic.

Also, let the farmer have an option where he can suggest a dealer name not in the given list.

I THINK MARKET PRICE SHOULD INCLUDE
1] FERTILIZER PRICE
2] CORP PRICE
3] EQUIPMENT PRICE .
IF IT IS POSSIBLE GOVT CAN OFFER TO PURCHASE FROM FORMER IF IT IS GETTING GOOD PRICE IN INTERNATIONAL MARKET .

The App is good.... it needs to be improvised giving information of all crops of all areas in our country... The ATMA has to be mobilized to get the data of respective crops of their area and facilitate to update the data..

The Kisan Suvida App is a great initiative deserves high appreciation as it is going to serve and help the large community of farmers in our country in a big way in future.
It is better the App has a simple direct interface with the common farmers to advise and guide them each crop season-wise to raise such crop which has the demand and generate better income.The interface has to be facilitated through well framed input formats and advice is generated after verification ..... contd.in File..
