Education is considered as the backbone of development, both at the individual household and societal levels. Educating the tribal children has been a challenge for the Government for various socio-cultural, economic, ecological and administrative reasons. Government is redesigning its strategies to create an enabling ecosystem of equal opportunity for quality education for ST children.

One of the major concerns of Tribal education is the low ST literacy rate and high ST drop-out rate.

Reducing the ST drop-out rates in Class I to X is a challenge. Bringing them back and to gainfully utilizing those who have already dropped out requires extreme care, sensitivity, imagination and meticulous planning.

Through this platform, Ministry of Tribal Affairs invites ideas, suggestions, views, opinions, solutions, criticism, and best practices from citizen for innovative interventions.

Respected Sir,
I am an Indian belonging from Konkan(Alibag) Maharashtra. As Konkan has seashore of more than 700Km. Mumbai and Western maharashtra is attached by Express Way, Railway Lines but the fact is basic roads ie National Highways, State Highways are good enough to carry such heavy traffic or not comfortable enough to attract more tourists in our region. This Barrier between Mumbai and Western Maharashtra is not developed enough. Is their anyone who can hear us?

Dear Sir,
In our country, every people has to remember at least 20-25 emergency phone numbers like police-100, fire-101, embulence-102, emergency disaster-108. I heard in a news channel on 16 march 2013 that IECRS [Integrated Emergency Communication and Response System] planning to make single emergency number for all different types of emergency but there is no action by IECRS till date.
It should be very useful tool, this single number can save more lives in emergency conditions.

We can make schools more student friendly so that psychologically a student should be comfortable at school. when someone drops out teachers should talk to family--parents, siblings and sort the matter. Social activities may lead to further retaining rather than force. If the class is pretty large or if teacher seems uninterested or if punishments are unfair the students drop out of school. such things shall be avoided. Attendance and home work are real indicators. Parents should also take care.

Girls may have been restricted from attending schools due to cultural reasons. So it has to be addressed. Socio economic conditions can be worked on to make further improvements. Child marriages if in practice should be checked. Children who are detained for want of intelligence tend to drop out of schools. So necessary steps shall be taken for that. Behavior problems if any needs to be addressed immediately.
