With the GST coming into effect from 1st July, 2017, the biggest indirect tax reform of independent India, is going to transform the way indirect tax is administered in this country, impacting not just businesses but also the common man. GST is a tax on consumption of goods and services, which is levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption, with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. It is going to remove the tax-on-tax effect through separate Central and State tax laws. In a nutshell, under GST, only value addition will be taxed , hence, reducing the burden of tax to be borne by the final consumer.

The most fundamental change in GST besides the consolidation of multiple taxes, is the use of a robust shared IT infrastructure in its operations. All the forms related to registrations, filing returns and other related activities can now be done through the GSTN Portal.

GST will help build an economically stronger India, with 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market.'

Please clarify what will be the GST % for Bio Fertilizers & Bio Pesticides. Since our respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is very keen to promote organic agriculture, I hope these products will qualify for Nil GST because till now these products were exempted from Excise Duty and Sales Tax in majority of the states.

GST is a good step for the financial uplift of the country, but as heard and mentioned ,it states that the goods when to be delivered in local by local small businessman to local consumers, then an invoice has to be accompanied along with in the local transport and cannot be sent on delivery challan, but Sir there is a local competition, and the rates pertaining to these deliveries may be opened and disclosed to the competitor and we may loose our business,So there should be consideration in this.

Government has initiated GST successfully, remarkable milestone in the history of India, because of GST so many tax evaders are coming to tax network, good job by Sri.Narendra Modi and team. So far all the governments are more concerned about collecting taxes from the citizens, but none of them are concerned about the benefits to be provided to Tax Payers like Medical facility, old age pension and unemployment allowances etc., there is no accountability for tax payers money.

Surely over a period of time benefits of GST will trickle down, which in turn will increase customer spending.
However, Govt. must reconsider its decision to apply GST on sanitary napkins. Under #BetiBachaoBetiPadhao scheme GST on sanitary napkins should be brought down to 0%.
Hoarding of goods and thereby creating scarcity of medicine should be checked with. GST tutorial app is the heed of the hour for many entrepreneur.

I have business of Ready made garment of mens apparel having turnover less than 20 lacs. Now as per the GST act, I need not to get register for GST Number. However, when I want to send goods by transport to my far away customer, the transporter is asking for Tax Invoice having mentioned GST Number on the same. Now, if it is not applicable for me to get registered under GST as per the act, how can I issue Invoice as per GST Act ? Due to this, my business has been stopped and my earnings too.
