With the GST coming into effect from 1st July, 2017, the biggest indirect tax reform of independent India, is going to transform the way indirect tax is administered in this country, impacting not just businesses but also the common man. GST is a tax on consumption of goods and services, which is levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption, with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. It is going to remove the tax-on-tax effect through separate Central and State tax laws. In a nutshell, under GST, only value addition will be taxed , hence, reducing the burden of tax to be borne by the final consumer.

The most fundamental change in GST besides the consolidation of multiple taxes, is the use of a robust shared IT infrastructure in its operations. All the forms related to registrations, filing returns and other related activities can now be done through the GSTN Portal.

GST will help build an economically stronger India, with 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market.'

From news paper item by Economic Secy Mr. Adoa it is seen that still trucks/buses will be stopped at state borders for permits and city barriers for Mandi Tax, the purpose of GST is defeated. I suggest that all commercial vehicles should be given all India permit by charging road tax to be decided. Similarly Mandi tax should be subsumed in GST to remove all barriers. Checking of driving should be on going process and vehicles should not be stopped in ques.

Transport services by road has GST rate of 5% with no ITC, but if it is added in goods invoice then it attracts GST rate of the commodity and ITC is available to the buyer,
This creates flaw in the GST regime, as in both scenario goods gets transported,

Clarification on this is required.

now the GST rate if 28% for mats and 18% raw materials. If these rates are implemented we will not be able to survive in the market and we will be compelled to close down the units.Since these mats are used exclusively in the Cow Farms it should be considered as an agricultural products and the rte of duty may be fixed at the lowest rate in the GST rate. Since these mats are used by poor agricultural farmers we cannot increase the price of the mats. Hence it is requested that
