Poor science and maths education (and English) accounts for 80 per cent of total students who fail in Tenth Board Examination. The low enrolment in science stream at higher secondary level and poor-quality education is a constraint in development of scientific manpower in the country. Science and Maths education would need special attention. We need to deliberate and find workable strategies for strengthening the quality of teaching–learning processes for better outcomes; innovations and diversity of approaches in matters of curricula, pedagogies and use of technology to improve the learning levels.

ROMPICHERLA MANDAL LEVEL DEBATE ON NEW EDUCATION POLICY
Venue: Z.P.H.SCHOOL, ROMPICHERLA
Date: 16-09-2015
• B.Chalaathirao, MPPS, Karlakunta: Pvt. Schools are implementing EM while govt. sector is implementing TM. So parents are opting pvt schools. Hence the govt. should be strict to maintain uniform mediums in both sectors.
• K.Kruparao, MPPS(BC), Santhagudipadu: EM is unnatural. TM is better.

Most of the schools/universities in some developed countries conduct a "How to Study" workshops. I do not know if this is available in our schools and collages. Text book learning is also important with practical training,it is just that we are experts in making learning a boring task.
Need more fun and interesting activities in classrooms and I know this can be done at lower costs.

One of the major reasons that why students don’t treat sc. & maths as a fear is that-
The things taught are simply imposed and lack practical aspect. Rather than understanding, main focus is on marks which leads to terror and in fear nothing can be achieved. So in my opinion stds should be taught sc. Which is mu more particle and logical to accept. Even in maths the logical aspect is missing which should be increased.
