PREVIOUSLY MHRD ASKED IGNOU AND ALL OTHER DISTANCE LEARNING UNIVERSTITES IN ENGINEERING EDUCATION TO OBTAIN AICTE APPROVAL OR THEY CANNOT OFFER SUCH COURSES AND SO THEY CLOSED DOWN THE COURSES OFFERED THROUGH DISTANCE MODE.THE SKILL DEVELOPMENT OF LAKHS OF WORKING DIPLOMA ENGINEERS WHO ARE WORKING FULL TIME AND CANNOT ATTEND FULL TIME OR PART TIME CLASS IS HINDERED.ON THE ONE HAND GOVT SPENDING CRORES ON SKILL DEVELOPMENT ,REGULATORS HINDERING SKILL DEVELOPMENT OF WORKING DIPLOMA ENGINEERS.

REGULATORS ARE HINDERING SKILL DEVELOPMENT.IGNOU CURRENT REGULATIONS PREVENT SIMULTANEOUS REGISTRATION FOR A DEGREE AND PG DIPLOMA/DEGREE COURSE .UGC HAS NOT GIVEN A DECISION ON THIS MATTER.EVERY DAY LAKHS OF CITIZENS INTEND TO PURSUE SIMULTANEOUS COURSES ARE PREVENTED FROM DOING SO.PER UGC CURRENT ODL RULES UNIVERSITIES CANNOT OFFER DISTANCE LEARNING COURSES BEYOND THEIR JURISDICTION.MHRD ISSUED MEMORANDUM WITHDRAWING AMIE RECOGNISATION AND BEEN STAYED BY Honourable HC.PLEASE FACILITATE SKILL

http://architecture.athabascau.ca This is the website of the reputed Athabasca University Canada, which is offering Bsc Architecture course online which is accredited for enrolling as Architects. Please request IITs/SPAs to produce online learning material in Architecture as done by them for Engineering under NPTEL and make arrangements to offer B.Arch online for Civil Engineers. If Canada can do it ,why India cant ,Architects & Architecture colleges may oppose as they want to save themselves

We want to build smart cities but we don't have architects and Town Planners, shall we wait another 5 years for new students to come through formal education, or we introduce non formal/ distance/online learning Architectural Degree/Diploma and PG Diploma courses for Civil Engineers who have already studied many common subjects same as B.Arch students and who are interested to take up architecture and Town Planning further learning can Govt / COA/ITP facilitate this, please take action

AMIE must be recognised since this exists from last 93 years and provides quality of education. I have sent a mail already to admin@mygov.in but haven't received a acknowledgement even. Copy of mail is attached

This should be a no age bar route to e-learning. Zero-based Proactive Learning Paradigm (ZPLP). Start from wherever one is. To make it work - develop need-based employment / skill focused learning modules in cooperation with industry. Give competency certificate on completion of each module. Let people learn proactively at their own pace. Make it world class.

Merit based ODL should be supported and promoted by this MY GOVERNMENT. Institution of Engineers ( INDIA ) is doing a great service to nation by providing merit based distance learning education. AMIE is degree of merit. It should be recognized. Blunder done by previous govt. should be done away with. It ( IEI ) should be rewarded for doing such good service. I pray to this govt. to please withdraw the case in HC & restore AMIE's recognition & pride. It will benefit thousand of diploma holders

I would like to express my views about AMIE course & its advantages.
AMIE coarse is in existence from last 94 years due to its real genunity & it creates honest engineers who will be having greater knowledge than regular engineering degree holders.While completing AMIE degree the candidate get fully acquainted huge knowledge as The course contains vast syllabus which covers total need of engineers to work in the society with usable knowledge.Unless the subject is understood

I support ODL and online courses. But the Institutes, Universities are to be properly monitored by the government authorities so that there is a proper control on them. The Institution of Engineers (India) - AMIE providing a B.E. degree equivalent is one of the premier institute and similar institute needs to be encouraged.
