A multi-lingual society recognises the importance of education in languages. While there are some interventions for appointment of language teachers and promotion of classical languages, there is no comprehensive scheme or language policy and we need to have inputs on this dimension.

Expensive international aid for teaching English is not necessary. The present projects begun in 2008-9 to upgrade teaching skills of Municipal school teachers must be reviewed and the impact must be studied carefully before any new states sign expensive contracts with these foreign organisations. There's a lot of indigenous strength and trained and qualified professional Indian institutions are fully capable of upgrading English teaching and training skills of our government-run schools.

A good handle on English is surely necessary for future generations of Indians in a globalised world. English is neglected as a language, especially in Government run schools where the teachers themselves are quite often deficient in required skills. Many state governments are taking help of foreign (very expensive) organisations to aid in upgrading the government school teachers', which can be taken up by indigenous institutions. There should be an impact study as to the effect of such aid.

It should be made sure that none of the languages is taken up by students just for scoring purposes. Like most of the students do in case of Sanskrit. The ministry should focus more on ensuring whether students are able to use their chosen language efficiently at the end of the course than forcing them to learning Sanskrit over German. If the language is made compulsory It is even more important to ensure that it is used. It should not be made compulsory until the course design ensures usability

Govt is giving subsidies in various govt institutions in case of tuition fees.Besides, the price of the foods in the canteens of those institutes is far cheaper than the market price of the same food. The students get admission in these institutes according to their ranks in the various competitive exams, surely they are more meritorious than the rest ranking below. They're getting chance of quality education than the rest of the colleges but why is the difference in the case of foods.

Rather than giving fixed lessons, and telling them to buy heart answers, they should be encouraged to express freely, both written and oral on any subject. They should be encouraged to use library to research on any subject

One classical Indian language, which is not the regional language+state/regional/community language+English could be the rubric within which to work. While it is important to teach the language of instruction through grammar, the other two languages can be taught creatively. One way could be to compile readers of extracts from popular and classical literature for every grade, and stocking the school library with the complete original works, which students could then be encouraged to borrow.
