Competence of teachers and their motivation is crucial for improving the quality. Several initiatives are being taken for addressing teacher shortages, shortages of secondary school teachers in mathematics, science and languages, improving the quality of pre-service teachers and in-service teachers professional development, enhancing the status of teaching as a profession, improving teachers’ motivation and their accountability for ensuring learning outcomes, and improving the quality of teacher educators. The objective of this theme is to assess the existing scenario and provide workable solutions to address the gamut of issues in teacher education in the school sector.

shikshak ke liye d.ed &b.ed anivaarya hona chahiye aur shikshako me koi bhed bhav na hokar sabhi samaan hona chchiye aarakshan nahi hona chahiye sabhi jaati avam stri purush ko samaan roop se sabhi ko mauka mile

it is necessary to increase the no of teachers. teachers do not have sufficient time for teaching b'coz they have so many other works. they do no gain attractive salaries. and that's why young generation are not encouraged to opt teaching as their profession.

शैक्षिक परिवर्तन के लिए शिक्षकों का मनोबल बनाए रखने और उत्साहपूर्वक कार्य करने की इच्छाशक्ति पैदा करने के लिए संगठित प्रयास करने होंगे। अभी शिक्षा व्यवस्था में बालकों और पालकों की भागीदारी न्यूनतम है, इसलिए सभी शैक्षिक कार्यक्रम सफल नहीं हो पाते हैं। स्कूलों में भी जिस प्रकार समर्पित स्वयंसेवकों की आवश्यकता है, वे नहीं हैं। अत: यह आवश्यक है कि श्रेष्ठतम शैक्षिक कार्यकर्ताओं की नियुक्ति की जानी चाहिए।

स्कूली शिक्षा में सुधार के लिए हमें वर्तमान शैक्षिक उद्देश्यों को भी पुनरीक्षित करना होगा। शिक्षा, महज परीक्षा पास करने या नौकरी/रोजगार पाने का साधन नहीं है। शिक्षा विद्यार्थियों के व्यक्तित्व विकास, अन्तर्निहित क्षमताओं के विकास करने और स्वथ्य जीवन निर्माण के लिए भी जरूरी है। शिक्षा प्रत्येक बच्चे को श्रेष्ठ इंसान बनने की ओर प्रवृत्त करे, तभी वह सार्थक सिध्द हो सकती है। कहा भी गया है

every teacher in higher education should take up a research project and his/her promotion to higher scale should be on the basis of number of projects/quality and should be published in national/international journals.

... 5. Yog, Music and Physical education should be made inevitable in teachers' training part 6. Teacher's aptitude should have more marks than his degree in the recruitment 7. Teacher must be made free from all other jobs other than teaching 8. Teacher must be given more salary than any other equivalent job 9. Tuition system must be banned at any cost 10. The person who is not absorbed anywhere becomes teacher. There must be some filtration for this type of people. Early choice helps here

In many colleges digital boards, digital equipment purchased with liberal UGC grants are lying unused as the teachers are not trained/competent/interested.
