On 15th August every year, the Prime Minister speaks from the ramparts of the Red Fort and lays out the government's programmes and policies. This year however, for the first time in history of Independent India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as he mentioned in his Mann ki Baat on 26th July 2015, is directly seeking ideas and suggestions from citizens on what he should speak in this year's Independence Day Speech.

So now you have the opportunity to tell your ideas, give word to your suggestions and crystallize your vision. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will articulate them.

#8 Government is a leader like Mahatma Gandhi and the citizens are those people who gave Gandhi the support which India required at that time. Similarly, we have to work because one is incomplete without another. This is our challenge and after accepting it as our biggest priority, we have to move forward in unison.

#7 Whenever we go for the immersion of any idol we worship, is it done by an individual? Does a company run with the help of only an individual or a factory manufactures its products only with a single person? No! An individual must neither work for oneself nor for the company but for the nation as a whole. All of us must move forward together with a belief that yes, this is our responsibility to make the country touch greater heights then only our existence will be justified.

#6 Nation is always above an individual and this feeling must be instilled in the minds of countrymen so that they can realise the value of their lives and hence cooperate while leaving behind the differences among others. This will help a lot in allowing India take her giant leap towards so called "Sustainable Development". Unity is very important in any work. The number of hands move forward for the benefit of country, is the speed country will also move forward with.

#5 If Sardar Bhagat Singh and innumerable patriots can do it for the nation then why can't we? We are into the 21st century and are quite advanced with the help of technology and modernisation. Can't we work with our hearts and minds streamlined towards the development of India in as many aspects as we can? There are so many healthy hands that if they are utilised properly and people start living above the selfish ambitions towards unification of the nation then India will soon be at the top.

#4 A lot of people work mostly for themselves. While a few number of government officials are honest, in private sector employees wait for the weekends to arrive. Was this the scenario during freedom struggle? Was this the feeling in the minds of people like Sardar Bhagat Singh who sacrificed their lives for the welfare of Mother India and her future generation? It was his love towards the country which gave him the courage to fight against the threats of country and give her what she deserved.

#3 unless the entire population participates effectively in its marathon with a sense of cooperation and mutual understanding.Had Mahatma Gandhi not received the support of countrymen, it would not be possible to enjoy The Independence. In the same way the issues like poverty, terrorism, injustice, hatred and the evils of society can only be wiped out with the help of national integrity.

#2 We got independence but we have forgotten its significance in true sense which is to carry forward the legacy of our freedom fighters including those who sacrificed their precious lives in order to force the British to leave. Today people vote and after their candidate wins, they leave everything upon the government and her officials as if their task was to merely vote. But my thought is that the government is just a centre, a point of the nation which cannot work in a full-fledged manner....

With due respect, I thank you sincerely for the revolutionary step of "Clean India Mission" which not only enforced cleanliness in almost all parts of the country but also the countrymen are walking together on this path with a renewed passion. Sir, today I find my nation scattered around in individual pieces, very less number of citizens have the feeling of patriotism and love for India. On one hand, we are the youngest nation on Earth and on the other hand there is a loss of nationalism in us.
