Supertall skyscrapers are the answer to Urban development including housing. Tall buildings reduce the land cost. when compared to horizontal development reduces the cost of utility lines like sewage, water elictricity; lesser roads to build; people can work/live/play in same building; people will not need cars as transport will be on lifts. Vertical devpt. protects the farmers land as Horizontal development makes a city grow outwards and eats into farmers land.

The housing needs should be seggregated into permanent and temporary categories. The permament category of housing should be for families migrating to cities for settling there permanently. while the temporary housing should be for people who have migrated to urban areas for livelihood leaving their families behind in the rural areas. Also, families who move from city to city for their livelihood should also be covered under these category.

Incentivise eco-friendly and fast construction techniques. Create a center of excellence in order to educate and evangelize small builders and building workers for newer technologies and techniques, better efficiency, safety and quality.

The jails in the main areas of cities could be moved to the outskirts of the cities. So that the space could be effectively used for urban projects.

Government should facilitate interest free loans to people falling under EWS for purchase of first house. Individuals should be educated to maintain sanitation and prevent damage to public property. States should identify and define affordable house clusters to relax taxes for institutions providing such loans and building materials to ensure minimal construction costs.
