The NITI Aayog-led Shoonya campaign, in partnership with MyGov India, is thrilled to announce the electric vehicles Townhall, an open discussion platform for citizens to share valuable ideas and suggestions to promote and enhance the clean electric mobility ecosystem in India. The Townhall focuses on electric vehicles (EVs) and their associated advantages, including cost savings, clean air, health benefits, and emission reduction.

In line with this initiative, NITI Aayog in collaboration with MyGov, invites input from citizens.

SUGGESTIONS
1. Community Charging Hubs: Establish accessible and aesthetically designed charging hubs in community spaces, integrating EV charging with recreational areas, cafes, and Wi-Fi hotspots to enhance the overall experience.
2. Smart Parking Integration: Develop smart parking solutions that reserve spots with charging infrastructure, ensuring EV users have priority access and reducing the frustration of searching for available charging stations.
3. Dynamic Pricing Models: Implement dynamic pricing strategies for charging stations, offering discounts during off-peak hours and incentivizing users for scheduled charging, encouraging efficient energy use.
4. EV Subscription Services: EV Subscription Services: Introduce subscription-based models for EVs, bundling maintenance, insurance, and charging costs into a single monthly fee.
5. EV owners get discounts or exclusive offers for restaurants or daily errands when they charge their vehicles at participating charging stations.

Here are some innovative strategies to boost
electric vehicle adoption:
1. **Community EV Sharing Programs:**
Establish community-based electric vehicle
sharing programs where residents can rent
EVs for short-term use, promoting familiarity
and convenience.
2. **EV Subscription Services:** Introduce
subscription-based services that allow
individuals to access electric vehicles on a
monthly basis, providing flexibility without the
commitment of ownership
3. **Integration with Public Transit:**
Integrate electric vehicles into existing public
transportation systems, offering last-mile
connectivity options such as electric shuttles
or bike-sharing programs
4. **Incentives for EV Charging
Infrastructure:** Provide incentives or
subsidies for businesses and property owners
to install EV charging stations, especially in
high-traffic areas like shopping centers, office
complexes, and residential neighborhoods.
5. **Tax Benefits and Rebates:** Offer tax
credits, rebates..etc..,

India is taking the lead in the global shift to electrification by introducing several electric vehicles or hybrid vehicles. According to market research firm Jato Dynamics, Electric vehicle (EV) sales grew 112% YoY to 50,284 units during April-September 2023. Thus, India has already begun shifting to EVs.

There are two aspects.
In big cities, we already have a good electricity distribution network. Power supply is also somewhat reliable. In this condition, EV charging points can be installed at fuel stations, CNG pumps, Hotels, housing societies and parking places.
Another aspect is where power supply is erratic and not reliable. Even petrol pumps and housing societies have to rely on DG sets. In this situation EV charging would be an uphill task. EV charging with DG is not feasible cost wise also from environment point of view.
The local power supply quality has to be gradually upgraded to make the EVs sustainable.
The same can be said for charging stations at highways where there is no regular power supply is available and the whole infrastructure is DG based. Even Dhabas have to depend on DG support.
In both these situations, standalone solar power can be a solution as there is enough open space available at fuel pumps and Dhabas.

Evs will automatically be implemented in large scale is our infrastructure capable of handling. This change over is possible  if it works out for autos, taxis no need for advertising. Simply the cost of vehicles, batteries with alternative cheaper concepts and minimum charging time. The autos or taxi hiring should be able to earn his living after meeting the investment criteria, maintainance charging at various points. We don't know what is the percentage of fuel used in cars, three wheelers, scooters compared to the national overall fuel consumption. The govt is getting huge revenues by way of taxes on this commodity, electricity charges are reasonable as of now for domestic consumption. Govt should give an break even milage vs cost of vehicles. As kms run will decide the national savings in import of fuel. This concept is green & important but there's livelihood of so many dependent. Oil producers countries can always play around on the price of crude to batteries & viable investment
