Smart City Coimbatore

Start Date :
Oct 07, 2015
Last Date :
Nov 26, 2015
00:00 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation has been selected through a competitive process for SMART City Mission initiative of Government of India. In the next phase, Coimbatore city ...
Introduce Engligh medium in addition to the local medium in government schools. This will help the children in these schools to compete with others. I have visited some government schools and the enthusiasm of the children is amazing and they should be given opportunities.
1) Rearranging bus stops. 2) To relocate road side shops to common area. 3) e-service center. 4) Free Signals and Caution boards from advertisements. 5) Corporation call center for auto/taxi/tempo/grievance/emergency services 6) Smart city schools with uniform fee structure like uniform syllabus. 7) 24 hour Health Centers with health data of the people. 8) Each location/area should have its own sewage & waste management plant. 9) Rule for Pets.
The vehicle usage is rapidly increasing in the city and so the traffic is getting more intense nowadays. The road rules should be made more severe and disobedience or failure to cooperate should be punished, more traffic signals should be installed at important junctions and the traffic department should ensure it's functioning all the time.
Immediately state govt should ask the central govt to allow a direct flight from Coimbatore international airport to Dubai, like other state govt's.
- Implement e-governance. All certificates must be obtained online.
- Build a modern library
- Build proper drainages
- Build sports arena. Renovate and modernise Nehru stadium
- Expand airport to allow more international connectivity
Launch an Air India flight from Coimbatore to Madurai.
Bring a proper waste management system.
1)Traffic has to be regularized with proper traffic monitoring and control system.
2)Govt Schools and hospital facilities should be improved
3)Buses are in poor condition, more buses in good condition can be provided.
4)Library, park and playing ground can be constructed for each locality.
5)Road,under & over bridge and drainage constructions are very poor and can be built with proper plan.
6)Trees can be planted.
7)Govt rules has to be strictly followed(like meter auto, wearing helmet).
2. Trees: We lost most of the trees in our city. Planting trees again is a must to control the pollution and also the heat. This also stops water clogging in the roads.
3. Water Clogging: While Rain the water flows like river in the roads. The drainage should be planned to make the water flow easily underground. This should be planned by the engineers.
4. Private and Govt Buses: Both are running recklessly. No control on Overspeeding. All the private bus drivers are overspeeding in all roads.
1. Traffic: Main hurdle we face in Coimbatore is traffic. What my view in the Traffic congestion is, The traffic signals are not working for the most of the time, and the Traffic police in personal are standing in front to maintain the traffic. But this should not be. The traffic signals could make the free flow of all the vehicles. Drivers are good in driving in signals and not with the Traffic police who would stop the traffic signals and block a certain way for long time which makes worse.
