Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation has been selected through a competitive process for SMART City Mission initiative of Government of India. In the next phase, Coimbatore city has to compete with 98 other cities from across the country to make it into the Top 20 cities which will be taken up for the first round of funding, for the financial year 2015-16.

Citizens and stakeholders of Coimbatore are requested to post their views and suggestions on how to make Coimbatore a Smart one. The citizens may organize their thoughts on the following topics

1. What should be the Vision of the Coimbatore
2. Strengths, areas of improvement & solutions across the following sectors

a. City Spatial Structure, Transportation and Green Spaces
b. Energy, Water, Waste Water and Environment
c. Housing, Health, Education, Security, Law and Order
d. Citizen Engagement, Smart Solutions and IT-led service delivery

every vehicle to ooty & mettupalayam & Manjoor needs to pass through Coimbatore City(Centre of the City). Please plan a By-Pass to reduce these traffic congestion by made by CROSSING CITY POPULATION (Floating Population).

even now a days Sulur has become very traffic in the evenings. moving vehicles inch by inch. a Service road or a Scheme Road By-Passing sulur area will be helpful in future for this traffic congestion in sulur area.

As planned for Integrated bus stand in vellalore.. the approaching roads to vellalore is also to widened to atleast 4 lane. ie... singanallur road, pothanur road, & road from L&T by_pass.

-Widen StateBank Road (Stretch from Lanka corner to Collectorate) -New scheme road to connect Avinashi road to trichy road via Airport SIHS colony. -Sports complex in each corporation zones - Multipurpose gym, indoor badminton courts, Volleyball, basketball courts, Swimming pools

1. Bus buys for each bus stops and pay and use toilets nearby. This will avoid bus stops near signals and bus stopping at mid of the road at bus-stops. 2. Maintain lakes with proper sewage distillation plants to stop inducting sewage water directed to the lake. (Its long time planning state) 3. Road Overbridge in the roads at hopes junction, Lakshmi Mills Jn, PSG Tech Jn, Singanallur Jn, Ramanathapuram Jn, Sungam Jn, SaibabaKovil, Ukkadam

shifting bus stand outside the city is a good suggestion took by the corporation. even if it gets executed soon. this will also reduce traffic in weekends inside city for the population who are moving out to their native places.

Introduce Parks through the city, Never have to enter a mall to entertain kids, Parks are a great way to let kids connect with their environment and provide them with a daily dose of fun & adventure.

Even small cites with 15 lakh population is getting metro and the works are in progress. Example Cochin & Vizagapatam. Almost Coimbatore is double in their population is still waiting for announcement.... Sorry... Not even Proposal is made for this beautiful city.

Believe it or not. 2 lakh vehicles are registered every 10 months in Coimbatore city alone. An elevated flyover for major roads is needed in future for this drastically growing population in Coimbatore

Road expansion works should be carried out from two lane to at least 4 lane. In sathyamangalam road, perur road, thadagam edayarpalyam road. Population in these areas are growing drastically month by month.
