3.Usage of LED street lighting: All arterial roads and even the smallest street is having Sodium Vapour lighting. Sodium Vapour is energy consuming and is also dim light. These can be replaced with LED array lighting which not only gives good brightness but saves significant amount of electricity as well.

Contd:
2.Cleaning of Lakes: Coimbatore city has many lakes within its city limits. If these lakes are well maintained, recreational facilities like boating could be feasible. But some of the lakes in the city are in a sorry state. For e.g A lake located near to RS PURAM is fully surrounded by slums and drainage from these slums are taking a toll on this lake. The lake is half covered with water weeds. Civic authorities should really have a look at this.

There are certain areas where Coimbatore city needs attention:
1. Flooding of Underpasses: Some of the underpasses in the city places like Kikani & Lanka Corner are getting flooded during rains. This is causing untold suffering to motorists. Even though corporation had taken steps to avoid flooding, there is no light in sight. Corporation should ensure that proper drainage mechanism and regular clearance of plastic debris around these underpasses should be implemented to avoid flooding.

we used to play cricket in this place during the eighties and early 90's(behind bharathi park)now it has turned in to ITC's waste segregation hub.Initially it was turned in to a workshop for water tankers but now used to park dirt collection vehicles and septic tank cleaning vehicles. These have made this green park and residential area in to a foul smelling un hygienic area.Officials only defending the action but not finding any solutions. Please save Bharathi park the last of green lungs in cbe.

We are happy to know Coimbatore becoming smart city. Coimbatore corporation is extended recently by adding new areas like Kalapatti,Vilankurichy. The Developments in these areas has come to halt as Corporation is not giving approval for construction in Plots which otherwise approved by Panchayats. The Areas like Vilankurichy , Kalapatti are to be developed as I.T.Hub and I.T.Park isto be encouraged by giving incentives.Corporation should bring a scheme to regularise unapproved plots

there are some major things like minimising the usage of plastic and encouraging to use disposable jute bags, This will be effective by enforcing strict rules by govt to ban completely the usage of plastics like in the nilgiris.

we must focus mainly on the waste management in coimbatore. Day by day open landfills are increasing and the hygiene level is going down. For the effective waste management the following steps can be taken:
1. Arrangement of big waste bins in all the required places.
2. Collection of waste from the bins regularly.

collection of sand, dust, papers and waste bottles near the lane dividers. that can be cleaned regularly. construction of walk path can be done all over the city for the pedestrians to walk.
transportation is nice, but still the bus condition is not proper. introduction of new buses can be done to replace the old buses.
