Smart City Dindigul

Start Date :
Sep 22, 2015
Last Date :
Dec 03, 2015
00:00 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Dindigul City is located in the central part of Tamil Nadu famous for its traditional lock manufacturing industry. The City has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development as ...
1. The city is center of tamilnadu and it’s best place to start IT companies here.
2. City having lot of floating population and so we need atleast domestic arirport.
3. Developing tourism in city and nearby city.(eg rockfort, sirumalai etc)
4.Need Sub Urban trains to nearby cities Madurai (60 km), Trichy (96 km) and Palani town (55 km).
5.Already we have Flower, Vegetable markets and it should modernize and we need fruit markets because fruits are largely growing nearby areas
Things and Expectations
1.Our City Does’t has Good hospital till now. We are travelling to nearby cities. Bring super Specality hospital in city.
2.Atleast changes the structure of building with enough parking facilities in Main Roads
3.Already the city is an agro based city and so develop the city as Smart Green city by having lot of street parks, trees in roads, good sanitation facilities because It receives rains in both south west monsoon (avg) and north east monsoon (high) rains.
1.We need two otuter busstand on North or North West of the city (near collector office for Tirchy, Salem, Erode, karur, Bangalore, Palani, Kovai, Palakad, Munar, Theni, Kodaikannal buses) and One on south east or east (in Natham road for natham, sivagangai, karikudi, Madurai and south bounded buses).
2. New roads to be created in Dindigul corporation areas.
3. We are receiving water for every 10 days only. So improve water facility.
Things needed and Expectations:
1. At present city limit is 14 square km and population in the limit is 2 lakhs and above .
2. But the proposed area is above 120 square km, therefore the corporation limit is 8 to 9 times bigger than what is now. So the original population is near 4 lakhs and with floating population would be 7 to 10 lakhs because varying during festival and summer because it has lot of tourist and pilgrims.
3. To ease the traffic inside the city we need east side ring road.
As part of the SMART city project I request the ministry of Urban affairs to focus on 'SMART planning'. Our cities, towns & Villages are poorly planned. To begin with it will be helpful to have some minimum standards road width, width of platform adjoining the road, elevation of buildings next to pedestrian platforms, location of shops on main roads, parking facility for vehicles next to shopping complex.
The water people receive at home should be drinkable without needing any extra purification process. I would't call a city "smart" if even as basic need as pure water is not served to its citizen.
Good luck Dindigul.
We are spending about Rs.30000/ for invertors to get UPS. If Solar Power is available with the above amount People will come forward to use Solar Power. By making Cost analysis on the Capital investment for Producing 1 KW of power through Thermal stations and the subsidy that can be possible for the above amount for Solar system, a clean environment can be setup for the future. Govt can be also free from the Power problems.
Water supply from River Vaigai is to be ensured by drawing the already allotted drinking water from Vaigai Dam. The CETP may be monitored by a Committee with the Government Organizations & the Tannery Owners. A new modernised Bus stand is essential.
The city is located the center of the state. It will be the passing city like connected with major towns and cities.
The city having tannery industry, the waste water from the tannery industry will spoil the quality of the ground water. under smart city proposal will suggest some suitable options to product the quality of ground water and to reduce the pollution of ground water. The city is having the various tourist locations like Malaikottai Temple, which will promote as important center
The geographic location of the place makes it unique. Quite close to the famous hill station of Kodaikkanal it has vast tourist potential. Keeping that in mind the city could be given a face-lift. The railway station could be upgraded with a Rail Yatri Nivas. Similarly the bus station could be modernized .Health and sanitation should be made a top priority keeping the flow of international tourists and residents in and around Kodai.Lastly housing schemes with parks, gyms, malls are a must.
