Jaipur has been selected in the list of 100 Smart cities under the Smart City Mission of Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India launched in June 2015. Moving forward the city is in the process of preparing a Smart City Proposal (SCP) as a requirement to participate in the Smart City Challenge, which needs to be submitted within 100 days timeframe. Under the Smart City Challenge, top 20 cities will be selected from 100 shortlisted cities based on the SCP. The smart city proposal would include city wide smart urban solutions as well as identification of areas within the city for specific area development and its implementation. Upon shortlisting, Jaipur can claim to work towards becoming one of India's connected cities under the smart city initiative. The dream of Rajasthan Govt is to transition Jaipur into a smart and sustainable city in phases.

The process of SCP preparation would be driven by intense citizen engagement at multiple levels in the city, for which Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has prepared an extensive Citizen Engagement Plan. The idea is to capture the voice and unique vision of the citizen for their city and engage with them proactively to understand city priority issues and the prioritise solutions based on their needs. JMC will carry out three rounds of stakeholder consultations over the period of next two months.
In the round 1 Citizen’s views and suggestions would be documented and incorporated to arrive at City’s Vision and define goals in terms of their aspiration to see their city in next 20 years followed by strategies to achieve these goals. The stakeholders are expected to highlight suggestions/ideas on improvement of city services such as water supply, transportation system, sanitation, housing, health, education, energy, open spaces, air quality, safety and security etc. In the next stage i.e. Round 2 of stakeholder consultations, which will be carried out during the month of October, JMC will seek similar kind of feedback from citizens on area development and pan city smart solutions.

Jaipur citizen and community is its biggest strength. Your views and feedback is very critical and important in this process. So at this stage, the citizens are urged to participate in the forum and share their views on Vision for Jaipiur City, Goals and Strategies to achieve this. Your views, opinion and solutions on urban issues faced by Jaipur would not only support a better future, but it will also make Jaipur strong contender for getting shortlisted as one of the first 20 cities in India to implement Smart City Solutions in Phase 1.

Let’s participate to make this proposal inclusive and meaningful for every common man, every citizen of the city.

Kindly post your views and ideas till 15th October 2015.

A great step in sewage management is to process then sewage in BIOGAS units and use the biogas as fuel. Not only this, the biogas sewage sludge which is left over can be used as manure or landfill for growth of POPLAR,which is a shrub which grows into adult plant size in under one year.So an ANNUAL POPLAR BASED SHORT ROTATION COPPICE can be initiated at urban level. This poplar harvest(WOOD) can be used BOTH FOR PLYWOOD MAKING AND THERMAL ELECTRICITY GENERARATION FROM CHARCOAL.PLEASE DON,T WORRY ABOUT CO? FOOTPRINTS WHEN I HAVE SAID'THERMAL ELECTRICITY' , BECAUSE THIS IS A CLOSED CYCLE CO? GENERATION.That means whatever co? is generated by this year's poplar is actually utilized by the next year's poplar crop. This technology is presently being used in England. The requirements needed for this project would be a large piece land, thermal electricity generation machinery, wood cutting manpower and machinery for cutting wood into small chips(for efficient combustion) as well as a very very efficient system for collection of sewage and organic waste. It is best if we can promote WASTE SEGREGATION AT SOURCE.The organic waste consisting of kitchen waste, dried biomass like leaves etc. can also be added to biogas chamber along with sewage. The non organic waste like plastic SHOULD BE RECYCLED.AGAIN FOR THIS ALSO,WE HAVE A GOOD TECHNOLOGY WITH ZERO CARBON FOOTPRINT AND THAT IS CALLED "solar rotational molding" by LIGHTMANUFACTURING.COM.By this technology we can mold the thermoplastic waste into useful products like dustbins, water tanks, etc.SPECIAL MENTION OF PLASTIC BOTTLES:THESE CAN BE USED TO CREATE MANY ACTIVE AND CREATIVE THINGS OF EVERYDAY USE SUCH AS TOYS,MONEY PURSES,ETC and even STREET LIGHTS.YES,STREET LIGHTS.VISIT liter of light.com to know more.PAPER WASTE CONSISTING OF papers ,cardboards etc. constitutes about 50% of an average Indian dustbin. All this paper can be recycled. Many of our municipal corporations are trying to get rid of all this waste by just incinarating it.BUT BELIEVE ME INCINERATION WON'T HELP IN THE LONG RUN.IT ONLY ADDS MORE CO?TO THE ATMOSPHERE.Waste segregation at source and proper processing of solid waste both from dustbins and latrines can alone help our 'SMART CITIES' to :
1)efficiently handle wastes
2)create more job opportunities
3)create a more eco friendly city with minimum carbon credits
4)create amenities such as plastic, wood, electricity, paper within the borders of the city so as to improve the services to people.
HOPING TO FIND ALL THESE TECHNOLOGIES IN OUR CITIES IN THE NEAR FUTURE
THANKYOU

Its planning and architectural aesthetics are already on a rapid damage and encroachment due to the apathy shown by different govt bodies and authorities that includes archaeological, polity, police and Muncipal .
The amount spent uptill now towards starting a metro in the walled city could have easily overhauled the require

The citizens must come together to tackle the urban issues and problems like practicing cleanliness; safe driving; avoiding the use of plastic bags; keeping the roads, street, pathways and water bodies pollution free. This task will never be completed without the cooperation of people of the city.

There must be a firm Garbage disposable system throughout the city. We always get happy that we're aware citizens throwing our garbage in the dustbins, but at the end of the day from that dustbin, where is that garbage going?
On roads of our city or some empty plot. I guess, nobody can imagine a smart city without cleanliness. So please use your smartness first in developing a useful, strong and sound garbage disposing procedure for city. Placing dustbins at public places is also required.

All localities and colonies of the city should be authorized immediately, so that organized amenities can be provided at every locality equally, like roads, parks, drinking waters, drainage system, garbage disposable system, and all others.
