The City of “Jalandhar”, prominent Sports & Light Engineering manufacturing goods Hub of Asia in the State of Punjab, has been selected as one of the Smart Cities under the ...
The citizens of JALANDHAR CITY would have the feel of change only when they see the Official Agencies responding to grievances in a meaningful and purposeful manner. THE DELIVERY OF SERVICES THROUGH E-GOVERNANCE MODE WOULD ENSURE TACKLING OF PROBLEMS OF THE CITY IN A TIME-BOUND MANNER. THE FROM ANY MOHALLA OR GULI WILL RECEIVE ATTENTION EQUAL TO ANY SO-CALLED POSH COLONY. E-GOVERNANCE MODE WOULD GO A LONG WAY IN ELIMINATING DISTINCTION BETWEEN AN ORDINARY CITIZEN AND AN ELITE, AS IS PRESENTLY.

The citizens of JALANDHAR CITY are faced with multiple problems for the solution of which they expect quick and positive response from the authorities to ease their day-to-day life. They get frustrated when not only do less than nothing, they appear to be disconcerted and disconcerned. THIS ATTITUDE NATURALLY FRUSTRATES THE CITIZENS NO END. SERVICE DELIVERY THROUGH E-GOVERNANCE WOULD FACILITATE BETTER COOPERATION AND COORDINATION CITIZENS AND THE AUTHORITIES.
In my comments after voting for Delivery of Services through e-governance, I have recorded comments underlining that, that would make the authorities more responsible towards their duties and more responsive towards what the citizens would come forward with. BEING MYSELF A CENTRAL GOVERNMENT RETIRED GAZETTED OFFICER FROM NEW DELHI, I CAN WELL IMAGINE THE CONSTRAINTS UNDER WHICH THE AUTHORITIES WORK. BUT, DESPITE THAT THE ADMINISTRATION HAS TO BE RESPONSIBLE AND RESPONSIVE TOWARDS THE CITIZENS.
To begin with a 'smart' public toilet facility would be a great idea. See this link for how the Chinese are planning to do with their public toilets: http://epaperbeta.timesofindia.com/Gallery.aspx?id=13_10_2015_019_029_003&type=P&artUrl=TIPS-TRIVIA-TRENDS-13102015019029&eid=31816

Jalandhar should have(i)efficient delivery of public utilities such as water, electricity, solid waste, sanitation, and sewerage(ii) mechanism for supply-demand matching of surface transport services to provide congestion free roads, and minimal waiting time for public transport commuters(iii) active surveillance, monitoring and alerts at vantage points in the city to provide the much required public safety for citizens and(iv)well established and good infrastructure(V)Regular cleaning of dumps, roads
