Should have a Centralized (app based) system for complaints related to electricity/ water supply / storm water drainage and related infrastructure services. The system should be a two way, providing response and consumer feedback mechanism.

The solid waste collection and disposal need to carried out in a scientific and sustained manner whIch is not being done at present.

Traffic police is doing excellent job by imposing fines on traffic violations, but also need to generate awareness.

As for as one can recollect, it is the first instance that the Local Body Authorities of JALANDHAR CITY have decided to turn to the citizen in general to take him on board regarding the affairs of the City. All these years the Authorities have been treating themselves an end to all problems faced by the City. At the best -- the worst, if one may say so -- there have been Committees of "eminent persons" for attending to problems faced by the citizens of the City. Pleasant change in attitude. Good

Jalandhar is beautiful city already but ,yes, it needs improvement in infrastructure and services: 1.All govt. service applications (marriage registration, licence applications, verifications) need to be online to save time. 2. Bureaucrats, teachers, service providers should be saved from political interference 3.Road junctions should be free of legacy of old leaders, flyovers should be built in keeping vision for next 20 years 4.state of the art Medical facilities to poor should be provided FOC

It is a matter of pride and happiness for every citizen of JALANDHAR CITY that it has found itself among the group of 100 cities to be developed as Smart Cities in the country. Now, the MCJ has to gear up to take it to the Group of 20 Cities. NOW THAT THE SMART CITY PLAN (SCP) HAS BEEN TAKEN INTO HAND, BOTH MCJ AND CITIZENS HAVE TO JOIN HANDS. FOR THAT TO HAPPEN, MCJ AUTHORITIES MUST SHUN THEIR SUPERIORITY COMPLEX TO GAIN CONFIDENCE AND COOPERATION OF CITIZENS. IT IS A MUST IN THE FIRST INSTANCE

See is believing- I suggest we mount WIFI cameras on all the govt owned transport vechiles (buses / trucks / vans / 2 wheelers ) and connect them to various depts of public health / police / transport / roads / garbage clearance and many more ,these cameras will give live feed of the quality of roads / movement of vechiles / traffic violations/ garbage on streets / illegal hoardings / misuse of power for political rallies / road side tree cuttings / public behaviour in bus stands and many more

The followings may be few suggestive measures for a smart and clean city: 1. Street washing before sweeping; 2. Use Bio-disposers to dispose kitchen / bio-degradable waste directly to sewer network. 3. Areas without sewer network may be provided with Bio-digesters for tackling bio-degradable waste. 4. Manage all type of Solid Waste separately without co-mingling for efficient reuse / recycling. & 5. Prefer to provide decentralised sanitation facilities, community managed & self sustainable.
