Namchi has been selected among the 100 shortlisted cities to participate in the Smart City Challenge initiated by Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India. The UD&HD department, Government of Sikkim invites all the citizensand who all are interested in its development to share their ideas. Please join us in this journey to make Namchi a smart city by sharing you creative and valuable suggestions, ideas, solutions on various aspects for the development of Namchi. There are so many beautiful things are available, but very sorry to say that there are garbage everywhere. I want if it is possible to clear all this garbage and slams and also trying to planting so many "Trees" and make this so beautiful.

You can build a City Smart not by Highrises only A city will become smart if It comrises of 33% area under Green Cover of Parks City Forest 10% area devoted to Waterbodies like Man Made lakes Ponds 33% area Devoted to Streets Lanes Parking Playgrounds Community Gathering places like Promenades etc 5% for City amenities Bus Depots /Stops schools Colleges Libraries City Center Town Hall Conference Halls Auditoriums & Only the Rest for Commerial & housing
