Bengaluru (erstwhile Bangalore), the capital of Karnataka, has a history of over four hundred years, having been founded by Magadi Kempegowda in the year 1537 AD. With its strategic location as well as congenial climate, fertile land & adequate rainfall has grown steadily in its area.

The history of municipal governance of Bangalore dates back to 1862, when nine leading citizens of the city formed a Municipal Board under the Improvement of Towns Act of 1850. Later, a similar Municipal Board was also formed in the Cantonment area of the city. The two boards were legalised in 1881, and functioned as two independent bodies called the Bangalore City Municipality and the Bangalore Civil and Military Station Municipality.

Post-Independence, the two Municipal Boards were merged to form the Corporation of the City of Bangalore in 1949. In January 2007, the Karnataka Government issued a notification to merge 100 wards of the erstwhile Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) with seven City Municipal Council (CMCs’), one Town Municipal Council (CMC) and 111 villages around the city to form a single administrative area and the body was renamed 'Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike' (BBMP) in 2007.

Improve parking. How can permission for commercial complexes and apartments be given without making the facility for parking. Everywhere there are no parking signs. Are we supposed to carry our cars on our heads and walk around?

Stop illegal rise of buildings. This is proving to be a menace in the city with shortage of water thanks to illegal high rise apartments. No one wants them anymore

Please Select Ward no. 82 (Mahadevpura) Bangalore for Smart City Development, This place is the heart of IT City, where we have all the facilities like mall hospitals like Vydehi, Satya Sai and soon Manipal hospital will be there. This city deserves to be a Smart city as most of the foreign investors are regular visitors and this city generates maximum IT revenue for the country. Hence development of this city is a must. Thank you!

I think any government initiative executed in full spirit without any personal agendas of involved stake holders would be a success. Any corruption or kick backs result in less than optimal delivery of program and in longer term does not benefit anyone. So please realise this and focus on development. Corruption brings a lot of negativity in the minds of general public. Smart Automatic Metering Infrastructure, Increased Metro connectivity, Hub & Spoke development would be good.
