Bengaluru (erstwhile Bangalore), the capital of Karnataka, has a history of over four hundred years, having been founded by Magadi Kempegowda in the year 1537 AD. With its strategic location as well as congenial climate, fertile land & adequate rainfall has grown steadily in its area.

The history of municipal governance of Bangalore dates back to 1862, when nine leading citizens of the city formed a Municipal Board under the Improvement of Towns Act of 1850. Later, a similar Municipal Board was also formed in the Cantonment area of the city. The two boards were legalised in 1881, and functioned as two independent bodies called the Bangalore City Municipality and the Bangalore Civil and Military Station Municipality.

Post-Independence, the two Municipal Boards were merged to form the Corporation of the City of Bangalore in 1949. In January 2007, the Karnataka Government issued a notification to merge 100 wards of the erstwhile Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) with seven City Municipal Council (CMCs’), one Town Municipal Council (CMC) and 111 villages around the city to form a single administrative area and the body was renamed 'Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike' (BBMP) in 2007.

Introduce small buses along narrow roads for residential area connectivity. Protect not only lakes but their catchment area valley and downstream valley at least in outskirts. Manage waste at ward level, encourage people to adopt house hold management of waste. Guide and encourage for rainwater harvesting and gardening. The roads to be designed such a way water will not stand and pot holes will not form. Make skywalks and walk ways for pedestrians. Build East-West & North -South trunk Roads.

Bengaluru needs efficient transport system- have Ring Railway either along the present ring road or along the proposed Peripheral Road. Use the existing railway lines like Tumkur, Mysore, Salem for running sub urban trains (this is discussed for along time but no progress). Connect this lines suitably with ring railway. Put one line towards south (as no railway line is there)either along BG Road or Kanakapura Road. Maintain the roads well, make footpaths on all roads.Introduce small buses.

Sir, 1. Traffic cops shall act as insurance agents as well to renew or issue new vehicle license policy to the vehicle owners if they wish to avail that service instead of simply collecting the fine in case of insurance expiry 2.
