Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is making all efforts to make citizens comfortable by giving them all infrastructure available to them. The Achievements of NMMC as known to citizens are mentioned below:

• High per capita income and cosmopolitan population
• Higher Education Institutes- Engineering, Management and Medical
• Major industrial area across Thane Belapur Road
• Biggest trading APMC
• Part of Proposed Knowledge Corridor
• Two big Infotech parks and presence of major players in these parks and outside
• Planned Urban Development
• Picturesque coastal area and very green Parsik hill
• Local dialling with the commercial capital

The objective of the consultations with the Citizens of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation is to motivate the people to get involved in the process of development of city into SMART CITY taking advantage of above schemes & to know the views and concerns of the stakeholders about the city. Their views and suggestions will have major contribution in formulating the vision for the city. This is an effort to connect YOU as a citizen to your local Government.

Your responses shall help us incorporate your inputs and emerge as a winner in the list of 10 cities that will undertake the smart city journey from Government of Maharashtra. Ideas are sought related to smart governance, smart information, smart citizens, smart mobility, smart energy etc. which are ecologically friendly, technologically integrated and meticulously planned with a particular reliance on the use of information technology to improve efficiency.

Each node has a common point area. Sharing of rickshaws should be created by RTO from station and highway to such common point areas in each node. Sharing will save people cost on daily travel and rickshaw owners will also earn more money per trip.

Rail travel should be senior citizen friendly. Each station should have escalators for them to reach the platforms. Each coach should have a senior citizen coach in Harbour line so that they can travel in ease. Many Senior citizens may tend to avoid rail travel because of lack of senior citizen friendly amenities

Many footpaths should have sloping paths on each side for people to walk on footpath in ease. Otherwise there is a tendency by people to walk on the road.

Each school, government or private, should keep one classroom open to general public for reading purpose daily including Sundays and public holidays from 9 am to 9 pm. This will inculcate a habit of reading in children and adults. Also this should be publicized in the locality.

Empty spaces under the bridge should be utilized in some manner....like it can be used for parking areas, recreational activities etc...

The NMMT should introduce an app which can be downloaded by the bus commuters waiting at the bus stops to know when the next bus will arrive for their intended bus route. The number of AC buses should be increased to reach out to the western suburbs of Mumbai.

There should be a city cultural heritage center (museum) for our city's pride. And it should be made available to visit to all public.
