Smart City New Town, Kolkata
Start Date :
Sep 28, 2015
Last Date :
Dec 05, 2015
00:00 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
New Town, Kolkata has been declared as a potential Smart City under the Smart Cities Mission, Government of India. To participate in Round-2 of the challenge of the smart city ...
Who said Kolkata can't be the best place to live in India? With this Smart City initiative for New Town, more and more people will now buy flats in this area.
We need more schools in New Town. There are hardly a couple of them here as of now. More schools, colleges, educational institutes would help New Town grow into a smarter place.
Waiting for the Metro services to start in New Town. Really looking forward to take the elevated corridor and see New Town for a totally new way. The Metro would also speed up the movement in the region beyond a doubt.
Transport management system needs a big boost in New Town. The region is not yet well populated and still we have traffic jams, road block and long signal delays.
Each and every building coming up in New Town should be asked to maintain standard safety and eco friendly measures, which will only help to make the future more clean and environment friendly.
We need to have a proper public broadcast system made effective in New Town that will regularly inform the residents about any upcoming events, road conditions, weather conditions, contacts info for any health or emergency services, transport schedules, etc.
Proper and efficient waste management system is a must have for any smart city. Only time will say how New Town fares in this challenge.
We need to have all roads and streets in New Town well lit up during evenings and nighttime. Proper daylight sensors are required that are maintained regularly.
I would like to develop all the roads to be complied with all public specially for senior citizen, there should a seperate track for cycling which is to be earmarked in the surrounding area of new town. Telecommunication, publioc transport is highly required.
security and surveillance in the city. Plantation of maximum numbers of trees to maintain greenary in the city.
