New Town is already one step forward in having a feather in its cap as SMART CITY. One point we may look into. That is regarding setting up a single window system for providing assistance to foreign nationals if they come to New Town and seek any sort of assistance be it setting up his business, having office space, schooling of kids, transportation, registration of his firm or whatever.

New Town has firm base to become a smart city. It has planned good physical infrastructure , social infrastructure and adequate types and numbers of residential units. It has a good presence of IT industry. However, to make it further smart few suggestions can be said
1) A good circulation system in all areas of New Town eg maybe cycle hired system or availability of e rickshaws any distance corner.
2)It should have unobstructive walkway system.
3)Dev. of economic activity apart from IT

Newtown is already a well planned city. A lot of thought has been given to planning the infrastructure. My only submission would be to strengthen the health facilities in the city, so as to take care of the ever changing needs of the society and people in the city. For e.g., with the present construction boom, emphasis has to be given for communicable diseases (like malaria, dengue, etc.). The age group of the population is also an indicator for providing relevant health coverage.

I want New Town to be a Smart City with vibrant economy, ample socio-economic and infrastructural facilities, more pedestrian facilities, more public transport facilities, having facilities of Cycling tracks, more planned greeneries, pollution free environment, with CNG facilities, better Responsive, Transparent pro-people Governance and lots more with sustainable and regular dynamic Urban Planning system. Also please think about the proper Urban designing, which lacking to my mind.

I am a resident of New Town. As a retired elderly person, it is a better place to live in.But it requires more open space for my grandsons and daughters for their playing. Smart city New Town demands more Govt. schools and hospitals for economically middle class people.

10. Transportation and Mobility & 12. IT connectivity:- At least all the Buses provided by NKDA-HIDCO should be tracked by Smartphone apps , so that people can schedule their time that when to reach the Bus Stop. That will reduce the unnecessary crowd at bus stops, also will save passengers time.
5. Health,11. Walkability & 19. Air Quality:- Big trees in road sides, in road dividers required . That will reduce the heat and then people can walk under shadow.

No Smart City Without Footpaths. Pl make walkable, stumble-free, and encroachment-free footpaths in every smart city for ordinary citizens, particularly for the elderly and children. There cannot be a smart city without footpaths.
