Panaji is selected as the Smart City in Goa under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), GoI’s Smart City Mission. Panaji is required to formulate its own unique vision, ...

It has been observed that today's school children carry about 10 to 15 kgs of textbooks and note books on their back when they go to school. If the same chilren are provided with netbooks from Class I to Class X with their text syllabus on their netbook, I think this would reduce the load on school children and become more interesting to them. This would also save a lot of paper and would be environment friendly.
CCTV should be installed at strategic locations in the panaji city which would benefit the CCP in identifying the people dumping garbage along road side and Police in identifying the traffic violators in terms of wrong entry and parking. The traffic violators car number could be captured on CCTV and directly sent to Police control room who could send challan directly to the residents after capturing the name and address from the RTO department.
The buildings which are more than 30 years old should be provided with higher FAR so that the societies could think on redevelopment of its building. With more FAR, the existing residents could redevelop their building into a high rise building with basement parking thereby eliminating the parking of four wheelers on roadside which will be a win-win situation for the CCP, GOG, Builder and the Citizens.
Being smart in Panaji is a natural extention of the culture and lifestyle of the citizens of this city. Its time that all of us, residents of Panaji, and those who touch the city either through commute, work or tourism realized and grasped this potential of changing the way we want a future for ourselves. Its time we expressed our vote and our commitment towards making Panaji a true dream city for all those who leave their hearts and hearth here.Let's get smart for Panaji.
Panaji is an unique city with its heritage, culture and biodiversity. By keeping all these intact it can progress towards Smart city!! I think, firstly Corporation of Panjim should look into transport system and also the waste management! Later they can work on other areas!! All the best!!
Panaji is a city with many firsts keeping the character of the city intact even while bringing smart improvements will make Panaji a Smart city.
Suggestions for Panaji ,
Venice Canals and Co2 free transport
Storm water and Rain water harvest
Hybrid energy Generation
Fish bone Transport system
Education
Vertical Gardening and Green Building
Now the next problem is how will these people enter the city who have parked their 4-wheelers at MULTI-LEVEL CAR PARKING at Bus-stand. Solution to this is, KADAMBA Corporation with private Bus Owners can ply AC/Non-AC Buses from Bus Parking provided next to MULTI-LEVEL CAR PARKING at Divja Circle with two conditions, first very nominal BUS-FARE and second, Trips should be continuous i.e. at every 10-15 minutes interval. By this there will revenue generation and congestion of traffic inside city.
I will list out my imagination towards transforming Panaji into a "SMART CITY" :-
1. The First Problem is to tackle the Volume of Traffic entering into Panaji between 9 to 11 in morning & exiting in the evening between 6 to 7pm. The solution for this is to STOP ALL THIS TRAFFIC ENTERING INTO THE CITY at the entry point i.e. at BUS-STAND itself. For this we have MUTLI-LEVEL CAR PARKING at the DIVJA Circle. Make compulsory parking for all 4-wheelers entering in the city in this facility.
