Smart City Tiruchirappalli

Start Date :
Sep 15, 2015
Last Date :
Nov 16, 2015
00:00 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get ...
Simply marking some roads as one way traffic will not solve the problem. In many of the roads there is complete violation of this traffic rule. Further absence of U-Turns at appropriate places which are citizen friendly also add fire to the violations. Construction of a bridge parallel to the existing check dam near Corporation water pumping station at Kambarasampettai will greatly reduce the traffic snarls within the City as the inbound vehicles from Karur and taking to the route to Srirangam
Construction of foot over bridge or underground paths will not produce the desired results as most of them will not be used at all or give room for antisocial elements. Addition of large number of vehicles each day also add to the traffic woes. In many of the signals there are not pedestrian crossing signals.
The most important burning issue is the need of good proper roads and strict enforcement of traffic rules.
As the city is one of the oldest cities in the country, it is inundated with large number of narrow roads and lanes with no room for further expansion on either side.
Construction of smart flyovers in places like Anna Silai rountana, Mainguard gate areas, Salai Road & Sasthri Road junction, and in some parts of woraiyur and Puthur Naal Road will greatly mitigate the traffic snarls.
Focus should be on making things smarter by using the measurements coming from devices connected to the internet(Internet of Things) for efficient resource utilization. These smart devices could be used for(in the order of priority),
1.Smart Water management
2.Smart Waste Management
3.Smart Agriculture
4.Smart Safety and Parking systems
5.Smart Health.
6.Smart electricity grid(usage of solar devices)
For a detailed approach feel free to contact at sar.kernel@gmail.com.
1.Introduce semi-low floor bus & AC bus. Cancel all private city buses because they make accident daily due to rash driving, operating in wrong routes, competition between private city bus etc.
2. UGD for all city areas.
3. MRTS/BRTS for Trichy city.
4.Integrated bus terminal along with city bus stand in Srirangam, KK nagar & Thuvakudi area.
5.Tap solar power for lighting.
1. The drainage and sewerage systems to be improved. No stagnant water should be allowed on streets.
2. Bus Management - some buses run almost empty in some routes. They should be diverted to routes with more rush.
3. During festive season, temporary bus stands are created. It makes difficult for people who cross trichy to reach their destination. The temporary bus stands are fully damaged during rain.
4. Gandhi market need to be regularized with better waste management.
#MyGov
Promote more rain water harvesting and solar energy.
Bus speeds must be limited within city limits to 40. We don't have broad enough roads to go faster. Private and govt busses drive very fast within city. And they park outside their bus stops causing plenty of inconvenience to traffic and blocking them till they load passengers
Build More parks and public places for kids to spend time.
Please check all those 2 wheelers parking on the roads.
Kaveri water to be released timely as per agreement
All Local private transport buses must be changed to government. They are very threats to pubilc since from my childhood am seeing this to till date.
