In an endeavor to promote & underline the importance of 'Action Plan for Introduction of Cheetah in India’, PM Narendra Modi in his Mann Ki Baat asked citizens for suggestions on the Names of the Cheetahs!

For female cheetah- 1. दामिनी, 2. सौदामिनी, - दोनों का अर्थ बिजली है 3. कामिनी - अर्थात स्त्री 4. यामिनी - अर्थात रजनी (रात्रि) और 5. क्षणप्रभा - यानि बिजली। FOR MALE - 1. वल्लभ 2. तुरंग और 3. भूपति।

जिस प्रकार से हमारे देश में सेना के शस्त्र के नाम से जलता है की उनका निर्माण स्वदेशी है उसी प्रकार से चीतो के नाम भी भारतीय संस्कृति के होने चाहिए भले ही चीते विदेशी हो या विदेश से आए हो जैसे रोशन रोशनी मोहनी मोहन और अभिनव आदि
