Use of electric buses in the city is a very important move.
Remove tax on electric vehicles
Carbon tax:Tax polluting fuels like petrol, diesel and Give them as Subsidies for electric vehicles
Also promote public electric transport with the help of govt initiated paper promotions
Let there is grass on either side of the road which reduce open soil space and thereby reducing pollution.

For Air pollution:
1. Use CNG/Electric buses
2. Make roads car free on alternate days
3. Discourage car uses by tolls on entry on few important roads/areas
4. Strengthen public transport
General:
1. Award people very good amount on reporting the pollution with proof (and keep them anonymous) and penalize the offender with heavy fine.

Wet garbage converted to manure and bio gas can be distributed to farmers as manure fertilizers and bio gas can be distributed in poor households to light a stove.
All vehicles in Chandigarh which are in use for more than 7 years should be banned to control air pollution. Vehicles in use for more than 7 years must be fined.
"No honking policy must be used to reduce noise pollution and people who honk unnecessarily must be fined.

Accessible underground sewer tunnel system with underground sewer treatment plants according to standards of big metropolitan cities of the world must replace the archaic sewerage and drainage system in India so as to reduce the pollution of water in rivers and lakes. The treated water can be used for irrigation in the city and nearby villages.
Garbage must be segregated and cillected. The dry garbage can be recycled and reused and wet garbage can be converted to manure and bio gas.

In Chandigarh the CTU Buses,Trucks and Diesel run Auto Ricksaws are major contributors of air Pollution.State Transport Authorities should check these vehicles periodically for their pollution levels and owners of these vehicles should be sensitized towards the ever increasing pollution in the city.At present registration of vehicles of more than 15 years of age are renewed very easily it should be stopped immediately. Sir
Government had provided residential apartments to some poor families but they have put them on rent.
They must be bound to use those apartments for personal use only.
For air pollution we must promote car pooling and make habit to caver small distance by foot.

We must promote kitchen gardening where people will have good organic vegetables, there we can use organic waste as manure for non-biodegradable waste we must employee people to collect garbage from door to door. That collected waste must be recycled. There is problem of sanitation also, people residing in slums there have no proper sanitation facilities.

Dust should be controlled. Not only for Chandigarh but for all the cities. Dust is the major source of pollution. It is creating a lot of problems like asthma and other respiratory problems. The dust in the city is toxic. All the best on the road should be sucked. That should not be open soil. Cover it up with concrete or greenry.
