Surat Municipal Corporation has prepared draft Smart City Proposal (SCP) as per the guideline of Smart City Mission given by MoUD, Govt. of India. Based on opinion/feedback ...
Transportation is the biggest menace for the city and BRTS is only adding to the traffic woes. BRTS can be successful only if it is accepted by Public and is well utilized. People of Surat are not in habit of using Public Transportation (PT) due to their high per capita income which enables them to have no. of private vehicles.

In #surat the citizens should be taught to Keep the dry and the wet garbage in diferent dustbin and with strict action SMC should Send 2 Different hi-tech garbage collecting vehical, one for dry other for wet garbage so that the dry garbage can be recycled and wet garbage can be used to generate organic manure and even cooking gas can be generated and will be economical, SMC should promote it on large scale and focus should be schools and colleges bcoz change in country will come from the roots.
recyclebin is important to clean india so recyclebin should in every area and street

Surat need a specially section for daimond as well as cloth production.
It's a big opportunity for Surat city in Stage-II selection of smart cities
In Surat the New Running BRTS buses should be replaced by electric buses so that pollution can be controlled..even the App-based Taxi's Should be given notice to use only CNG operated Taxis IN City. There are very less trees in some places therefor many more trees should be planted and the city citizens should be taught to Keep the dry and the wet garbage in diferent dustbin and with strict action SMC should Send 2 Different hi-tech garbage collecting vehical, one for dry other for wet garbage.
In Surat The Main Road Beautification should be done BY planting flowering plants and trees on both of the roads in each and every are..and the New Developing areas(like Vesu,Pal-Adajan) should be divided as Sectors (not only in surat but every new developing city should be divided as sectors as in Gandhinagar(Guj), Noida(UP)so that the in future GPS would become accurate and show you exact place on google map)and for developing such areas trees should be transplanted instead of cutting them..e
Lucknow being state capital deserves to be a smart city, I want that there should be proper coordination between different departments responsible for development of city, rather I will suggest there should be one common head to coordinate between different department. It should be avoided that one day one department is making a road & after a week another department is digging the same road to lay the pipeline or cable, wasting public money and creating panic for citizens.
