Surat Municipal Corporation has prepared draft Smart City Proposal (SCP) as per the guideline of Smart City Mission given by MoUD, Govt. of India. Based on opinion/feedback received during Citizen’s Engagement Round - 1 and Round - 2, Smart City Proposal (Draft) for Surat city includes

1. PAN City proposal based on Smart Solutions for “Transportation-Mobility-Connectivity” in entire city area and;
2. Area based development: Smart solutions in various sectors as“Retrofitting” is selected for 112.28 sq.km.area of Surat city prior to city limit extension in year 2006.

Surat is only city in India which has working Tertiary Treatment Plant which generate industrial grade water from sewage water for Pandesara industrial estate.

The city is known as Diamond City of India. 25% of Diamond trading done in surat of all over India and also Textile is also leading business in Surat City. so Govt must considered Surat City as a Smart City

The Surat City have major docks and harbors connected to various major ports. Have a Maximum SEZ areas that have major named industries like Reliance, GNFC, ESSAR, L&T etc. so it has major numbers of educated people. it has to be selected for the Smart City of India.

Surat City have one of the best Storm Drain Network and Sewerage network. The city have 1st Tertiary Treatment Plant of India. The city must be selected in Smart City of India.

Fast growing & clean city. night sweeping service is best in city. found clean city in every morning. Also there are so many bridges so we can reached our destination within short time.
