During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

A drug test should be made mandatory for any government or private job entrance process. Their should be a drug test prior to admission in a college and on leaving the college.

My suggestions are for WTO-TFA success and food preservation. With success at WTO, we need to pay attention of Food Storage and preservation with minimization of spoilage. Review of FCI required. Food Irradiation be considered. Why not have better Food storage and processing through private & foreign participation. small plan attached.

Another area of concern is the rise in the addiction to sniffing of whitening ink especially among the children belonging to the lower most economic strata of our society eg: rag pickers. This section of people already suffer from the paucity of proper health, hygiene and education and hence the additional problem of drug abuse since a very tender age can have huge negative implications. There is a need to find a way out of this kind of issues at the earliest.

Larger vested interest promote drugs/violence irrespective of law. Best way is to develop social program/community living. Children and society should come together regularly. Make drug use legal with heavy costs. Discourage frivolous and pleasure users. Apart from law and order, it has to have social answers. Encourage playgrounds, community cooking, celebrate cultural events & small achievements. Encourage work/life balance through time measurement.

Setting up of special teams at all institutes of higher education is essential to monitor the spread of drug menace . A lot of students fall prey to peer pressure and succumb to drug addiction at these places. There is always a of group of individuals who take to these habits thinking it would increase their "cool" quotient and then end up at a point of no return.

Govt. should have stringent laws to curb this menace. Those who are having drug business shouldn't be given MLA and MP tickets. Mass programmes thru TVs, radios, and cinemas may some what help to change the mind set of the poor people, since UNEMPLOYMENT IS THE ROOT CAUSE FOR THIS. Enough employment ways will help the poor not to venture to this ill trade.

Hi Parents are spending plenty of money to their children. Every parent should monitor their children 1 full day every month, Where parents will see every activity of their child to make sure whom they are doing friendship with, any illegal activities performing, any drug addiction. We need to motivate parents for this activity. If children knows that some one is monitoring they will not do any wrong things. Parents should be the right persons to stop the drug addiction to their children. Thanks

Our regional entertainment media potrays violence in its movies and in my opinion, spreading negative emotions in the people. All disturbing contents are not to be allowed in the media. Our governmental offices shall have regular checks and employees using drugs/alcohol shall be fired. They are incapable doing justification to thier job. The position shall be given to the person who is self disciplined and thus improving governmental services.
