Reserved tickets can be booked at Computerised Passenger Reservation System centres operated by Indian Railways and also online through website www.irctc.co.in. Unreserved tickets can be purchased from Computerised Unreserved Ticketing System counters and also Automatic Ticket Vending Machines which have been installed at major stations.

Suggest solutions for efficient ticketing system.

TTE should not handle cash.they should be given handheld devise like in shopping malls to take ticket money further vacant berths to be made available for booking throughout the joiurney of train . ch s reddy

Luxury Train must provide high end business class facilities like wi-if, hi quality food, TV facility, movies on demand etc, bedrolls, luggage checkin facility, better bootleg facility.,high standards of hygiene ,library, newspaper access, meeting rooms equipped with hi tech technology to attract business class

Please categorise trains in to various categories based on services offered like Luxury train must be linked with premium fares, Deluxe train ( Superfast category) must be linked with Tatkal fare ,Standard trains( Xpress trains) must be linked with normal fares and lastly Economy train with general basic fares.

Please detach food and bed roll cost from the ticket fares as it shouldbe made available as per demand of the traveller via mobile as per requirement.

Allow private shopkeepers to provide authorised rail tickets on the go to citizens to avoid standing in queues to make it more accessible,available and affordable.

Railways need not invest on machines or human resources for local train tickets, pass, unreserved tickets or platform tickets. Have a provision to buy the above either through an app or through some sort of SMS service. Amount can be either deducted from balance or have some sort of understanding with mobile service providers for this purpose.Normal SMS rates should not be applicable and there must be special cheap rates as the above are low value as such.

Please create a mygov.in mobile app for smasmartphones as well as create mobile app for trains related queries, comments, complaints...take the help of IIT, Btech and other engineering students by encouraging them to create mygov.in and rail app for their final year project whch can be used by people
