for railways, stop giving loads of free services to your employees. heard if 1 person in railway or even ex employee, then even distance relatives avail free journey benefits. stop this crap. free journey should only be for people traveling on govt work related tours and not otherwise or for family. for holidaying already LTC there,no need of extended benefits. same applies to air india also. hope they are reading this.

Advance Tickets may be given maximum 15 days prior to journey. Because in this busy life it is to difficult to make programme 2 month before. Also all the persons who buy advance ticket should be adjusted by addding the coaches or managing in other alternate train as it is our bussines.Cancellation charges may be increased.Ticket should be issued by destination and date only rather than by name of train eg.Shane Punjab and many other names also the No.of train ie need to simplify this all system

i think that many people do long distance travel through flight and then take trains for near by towns esp tourists.& this is good.dont think of building airports everywhr and destroy environment.this can be focused during ticketing. just like airports/railways separately issue connecting flights/rail ticket respectively.this can be clubbed.bt all info should be provided in ticket. will help tourists.guess all airports hv taxi services to nearest rail station. clubbed ticketing can b luked into

ticket should checked at rail station also like in airports. allow people with tickets only near railway platform. also noticed platform ticket for visitors are often not checked or checked while going out, this should be checked before entering platform. control crowds. people should be queued up for arrival/departures. general compartment tickets should be issued only in limited numbers, only as many seats available. railways should not treat general compartment poor people as cattle class.

At present few of the ticket vending kiosks installed in PGT & TVC divisions of S.Rly are operated by authorised agents. Taking into account average ticket sales at each station , more kiosks & authorised agents will help in doing away with long ques. Ticket checking staff may be provided with CUG smart phones, having official apps to check both unreserved & reserved tickets & e tickets. Also the present handwritten EFT Book may be replaced by, a palm held excess fare ticket issuing gadget.

At present Railway Hospitals serve only existing & retired Railway employees, families. Doctors at these hospitals behave as OFFICERS, with no concern for patients. So even railway employees seek trestment from private hospitals for their families. Also the consultation time is limited. Vestiges of Colonial India are experienced in rly hospitals. Rly hospitals have vast land area. For better service to all, these hospitals should be privatised. Some can be developed into medical colleges too.

To increase Carrying capacity in second class unreserved coaches, Railways may in a phased manner, change all existing second class coaches, with double decker coaches. Already most of mainline tracks have reached permissible utilisation limits. So double & four line work should begin at a war footing, to meet the demands of our people & industries. As time is lost, the cost of acquiring land will increase all the more. So rather than delaying, infrastructure should be upgraded at the earliest

There has to be uniqu id card for railway just like a metro card. For getting the tickets or even reservation we can sms to a number just like in format:" " and the person should get back a confirmation sms and a ticket in sms which is valid.

There should be a provision of unique accounts, i.e. different types of accounts for diffrent people, eg. students account, old-age account, P.D. accounts and there different id's. if we have different set of servers for each account type the we can again release load and provide a smooth reservation facility.
