Ticketing System on Indian Railways

Start Date :
Jan 01, 2015
Last Date :
Jul 17, 2015
04:15 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Reserved tickets can be booked at Computerised Passenger Reservation System centres operated by Indian Railways and also online through website www.irctc.co.in. Unreserved tickets ...
Digitalizing of Unreserved tickets can be done by following below simple steps:
- Passenger shall inform his journey details, provide his mobile number & any of the ID proof to the booking officer at ticket window.
- Officer shall book the ticket & passenger will receive the SMS containing the travel details. The SMS will also have the ID no of the proof provided by passenger. Thus the SMS shall be valid only with that ID proof.
- Same can be adopted to book unreserved ticket through IRCTC.
The Indian Government and Railway Ministry can think my following suggestion for the Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express train:-
Food choice should not be mandatory for the all passenger.
If passenger not opted the food in the train the food charge should be reduce from his fair.
During the journey may be some passenger having a fast, so why they paid the food charge.
People traveling in the Rajdhani and Shatabdi for saving the journey time not for the food.

IRCTC should update a online ticking website wherein passenger can choose the birth and it should be confirmed by IRCTC before the payment.
Currently if passenger choose a lower birth after seeing a availability of seat but after deducting the payment from the bank gateway the message will appear that the lower birth is not available.
I request IRCTC to update a online ticking website for the passenger.
Golmal By IRCTC while cancel the train
IRCTC or Ministruy of railway have to pay 10 time of ticket amount if train has been cancelled
IRCTC only refunding ticket charges
Service charges also need to be refund if irctc not able to delivered the service
IRCTC portal charges need to be refund in case of train cancellation
Bank gateway charges also need to be refund by irctc in case of train cancellation and falure of service 10 time of penality have to be imposed on railway
Tatkal should open 24hrs before the departure of scheduled trains rather than at 10am of previous day simultaneously.
for example-
Rajdhani leaving on 5:00 pm on 29th march
so tatkal should open on 5:00pm on 28th march
benefits-
it will disperse the tatkal traffic throughout the day rather than jamming of site on morning hours.
Ticketing system Ineeds improvement to end corruption in the system. IRCTC should have more firewallfi so that agents cannot hack it. Encourage more people to use line online ticketing by coming out railway pay cards (prepaid cards), reduce transaction costs, no cancelation cost for wait list tickets which gets canceled. Ensure computerised confirmation of wait list even after train is started by providing interface to TT to check online status & selling only vacant seats after all allocations.
ticket windows but only one windows works .if no. 2 is open other will close & if 3 is open 2 is close so what to do for that .only expenses will raise on increasing ticket window.
The number of ticket counters should be increased at such stations from where the train starts.Because lot of passengers board at this single station and if only one counter is open, then at time of departure of train, many passengers are forced to board the train without ticket. These passangers become defaulter although they tried to buy a ticket.I have seen this scenario at Sirsa station in haryana for sirsa express at 3 AM onwards in the morning.
1.first you should upgrade the current ticketing platform with more power efficient and powerful servers and improve the website design and take feedbacks from people after every purchase. 2.Go for online/offline surveys and make ticket counters more people friendly. 3.We need more number of automatic ticket vending machines just like the ATM's not only in stations but also outside like in public place, e.g bus terminus, hospitals, shopping malls.
