I have a suggestion to reduce problems for genuine travelers. Please increase the cancellation charges for tickets so that people do not book without firm plans thus putting people who need to travel definitely at a disadvantage. This way we can dissuade people from blocking up tickets and freeing them for genuine travelers.

Ticket Cancellation Charge is to be made on value of ticket as % and not as a flat charge i.e. 60 rs.

to avoid delay in counter ticket booking, all passenger should enter ticket and passenger details by online and get a SMS token code to their registered mobile number, When they approaching ticket counter they must show token code from the received mobile. So the ticket booking officer just entering the code in the booking computer, all relevant fields will be updated from the server and book the ticket immediately. So railways can serve better faster and smarter

The application form for ticket booking must have a option for NOT PREFERRED BIRTH preference, For example a passenger can prefer lower birth, or NOT PREFER UPPER BIRTH, railways ticket booking system give priority to NOT PREFERRED OPTION First than PREFERRED OPTION, if NOT PREFERRED Upper birth only available, the passenger should be informed before ticket booking. So let he/she take decision to book ticket

Since Indian Railways providing services Not only profit motivated, Kindly avoid any online advertisement like google adwords, it is really disturbing while we booking the tickets. profit making through this idea is not good sense for GREAT INDIAN RAILWAYS. instead display advertisement on final booked ticket, if required

Every citizen must have a priority to travel in railways with takkal system. Every year minimum 2500 KM quota should be allocated to a citizen for emergency travelling without extra payment. by providing a valid ID with registration system, a passenger can avail this facility, If he/ She exceed this quota, he /She liable to pay takkal chrages. This facility is individual based, it means no family or co-passenger can book ticket free takkal.

Railways can try to implement onboard conductor system for ticket booking for EMU/Local trains. So station ticket counter rush could be avoided. Even railways can try this concept outsourcing to private parties by tendering method.

Ticket cancellation can be done by simple SMS system will more convince. The Passenger can cancel his/her/their ticket by sending a SMS with PNR/TICKET NUMBER to a particular number from his/her registered mobile number . So NO RAC/WL concept are required, No TTE can do any mischief. The same passenger will get SMS confirmation about the cancellation and refund details also.
